I'm thinking of getting a pair of these side mirror covers with LED turn signals, but before I do I thought I would ask around if anyone has them installed and what the experience was like. I have heated mirrors (came stock in Canada on my SL AWD) and am concerned that I won't be able to commute the heated mirrors to this set of covers.

If anyone has these http://www.autosignalparts.com/nissan-r ... aeeec.html, I would truly value your opinion in helping me decide whether or not they are a good product.

Thanks

insomnia816 did a similar the swap last year. The housing in the link you posted appears to be different though. Read his thread here:

Well... I checked out the site and immediately had some reservations.

First... as alluded to by philipa_240sx... the mirrors shown don't match the shape or design of the factory Rogue mirrors. If I was going to go through the trouble, effort and expense to install them, I personally, would try to locate ones like insomnia816 installed.

Second... although the price seems attractive you quickly see that the price is for black only, if you want them painted its another $50. Even more scary... they don't list the paint codes, just some primary colors. Nowhere on their site do they mention having a 100% satisfaction guarantee or even a guarantee that the color paint they will use is guaranteed to match your vehicle. Also, they don't have a 1-800 number... "and".... the email address is a GMail account! Both of these are red flags that this is probably a small time operation.

FACT: Anybody can put together a fancy looking website with very little effort. What looks to be a large fancy operation with tons of merchandise may be nothing more than a guy working out of his garage. In reading through multiple pages of their website I couldn't help but notice the broken English and errors in the grammar. This leads me to believe the seller doesn't have a staff, or at least anyone on staff that can proof read. More than likely the California address is simply a front end to an overseas operation. Not that a overseas operation is anything to be concerned about, or even the faulty English... as long as there is someone in country that will be quick to respond to your emails and or any issues you may have. I did some preliminary searches on their website(s), certificates, etc. Their site does not have a SSL Certificate which means any personal or credit Card information would be at risk. They get around this by redirecting you and completing the sale via Yahoo! Store. Again, this is not necessarily bad... as long as there is someone at the store ready to talk with you or respond to your emails. The site autosignalparts (url) 68.142.205.137 does not have a valid or registered email address associated with the ip address. I found "multiple" California street addresses associated with this company and/or sister companies. Once again... this may be perfectly fine... or it could be a red light.... the key is knowing who you are doing business with, are they easy to contact, do they return your calls and/or respond to your emails quickly, and do they stand behind their product.

Anyway, before doing business with any online company you should always do a little research on the company and then decide if you want to proceed. Even at the simplest level of a Google search just Google any company name along with the word complaint... and you may find something like this:

http://rav4world.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... 5310e06b1c

At the very least...I'd send the seller an email, ask some questions, does he offer a guarantee on paint match, what are his shipping times, etc., etc. Then gauge the timeliness of his replies. Are his responses satisfactory? Last, I'd pay via Credit Card so you can contact the CC bank and dispute the charges should you not receive them or receive something other than what you ordered. The seller (via Yahoo) also takes PayPal which also offers a protection plan but filing a PayPal claim is a real pain.

Thanks for the heads-up Elton. After posting this I did exactly what you suggest at the bottom of the post. I did email them to ask about a K51 paint match vs. the "GRAY" selection, where the item originates from and to ask for more pictures. I probably scared the guy with too many detailed, demanding questions because he has not replied and i gave up my pursuit of this item. I am very interested in what insomnia816 got (I think I have actually seen his Rogue as I live in vancouver as well). I will follow-up with insomnia and find out how to get a set through his successful supplier.

Well, it seems the only place to get the same ones as insomnia816 is from Taiwan via Nissan of Taiwan. After having a Taiwanese friend research them, they seem to be OEM and $5500 NTD (Taiwan Dollars) approximately $185 CAD, but that includes installation. I have no idea how to pay for them and get them shipped to me in Canada - hopefully Nissan Taiwan can help me figure it out. I will post further if I can work it out with them.

Well not exactly. I found a place called Burtman Industries that apparently the guy gets part for the people with infinity and other cars as well. I sent him an email this morning. Maybe you guys can check the site. He does provide paint codes as these come painted.

let me know if this company is legit. The Rogue is not on the list but if he is getting them from Nissan Japan it should not be to hard for them to get them.

My brother, who lives in Fujisawa (just outside of Tokyo), was unable to find the OEM part number (K6300-JMK51-23) locally that insomnia816 shows in his post post5263959.html. Also, darkmanx responded in insomnia816's previous post thoughts-on-rogue-mirrors-t459288.html that these covers are standard equipment on Rogues in Taiwan (because of the number of scooter on the road, as I have been told).

I assume Nissan OEM numbers would be the same regardless if they are for Infiniti or Nissan. Their "Search by Vehicle" field does not specifically have Rogue as a selection and the photos on their website do not look like the ones in insomnia816's posts, so I am not sure if Burtman are bringing in the same ones.

I am surprised that you guys would still brought up this topic. Unfortunately you won't be able to get the part from Japan because in Japan Rogue does not exist. Rogue is actually Dualis in Japan. Dualis is similiar to Rogue in some perspective and different in terms of parts and design. What Rolades01 says is true in Taiwan's situation. I have no problem getting them here in Canada but installation is quite a bit nasty since you have to take down the two door panels and glove box to reach to the BCM unit. Unless you have a repair guy to do it for you if you want to spend some installation cost. Labor cost from my experience is minimum 2 hours and can go up to 4 hours or more depend on the guy. The parts itself is also quite expensive (Approx $140 CDN). But like I said, once you put it on you Rogue it upgrades the look a lot.

The sad fact is that there was very little aftermarket stuff made for the first gen Rogue. Since it's been replaced by the completely restyled 2nd gen, most of the offerings have disappeared. Now that we're four years into the new model, this is probably an exorcise in futility.

True, unfortunately.
