I'm starting to get the rotten egg smell from my cat it only happens at WOT for long periods IE highway on ramps is this a sign that my cat is going bad or is just cuz I'm rompin on cuz it never smells any other time. So wondering if I should replace it or just leave it I've got to get inspect in Sept and don't want any issues so if its needed I want to do it soon... so what does everyone think? Do it or leave it.

if it smells that means it's cooking. since you have to do an inspection i'd replace it but idk if it has negative impact on emissions...maybe it doesn't, then you'd be fine. mt doesn't require inspections so maybe someone from a state that does can chip in.

It could be a sign that the car is running rich, which might be an indicator of another more significant problem (like bad injector). Usually when cats smell it's because there's unburned fuel causing them to get too hot and burn.

I had a tune up about 3 month ago and had all the plugs replaced. I have no performance issues just that stink and its only at WOT for extended periods really its only on one paticular on ramp thats about 1\4 mile up hill if that makes any difference. I'm gonna have it dynoed next weekend so I should be able to see if it is runnin rich. I'll keep everyone posted.
