I guess in the 89 and 90 240s the a/c compreswsor was drained into the subframe now causing it to rust. does anybody else have this problem and how can i fix it. i know there are a couple people who have had this problem and they just cut out a piece of the frame and rewelded a new piece of metal in there. what are your thoughts.

Its rotted right by the front left (drivers side) tire just before it starts to up into the wheel well it sucks cuz there isnt really any other sopt to put it on the lift unless i put it on the alignment rack but i still want to take care of it as fast as possible.

You are talking about the frame rails. You can make a bracket mount it up and weld it in place over the rust. You can cut the rust out then make a patch. I believe you can but frame rails too, i don't think the time and effort would be worth it. I have the same problem with my car but its only a small finger size hole. I will be making a temporary bracket this winter. Nick
