I replaced my rotors a couple of months ago with some ebay slotted and drilled rotors and brake pads. It seems that most of the time when I press on the brakes it makes an awful grinding noise. Because the rotors are slotted and drilled the dealer told me that they can't resurface the rotors. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem without replacing the rotors?

Off topic, but I'm in the process of installing new brakes on my pathfinder. Could you tell me how to get the rotors off? Thanks

You gotta take the hub off with the rotor, repack the bearings while your in there. And buy the cheap $20 rotors if you're replacing them. There is no advantage to spending $60 more bucks on a rotor since they're all the same. And get some ceramic pads.

It was seriously the biggest pain and I was a dumbass by spending more money on expensive rotors because I believe they sound like crap. If I could, I would've just spent the money and had someone else change my rotors.

try putting anti-squeek for brakes on the pads, the dealership pads never come with that but you can get it at any local autoparts store. hope that helped.

I have and I don't think that's the problem. I've read on some TSB that when replacing the rotors the new rotors have to be aligned specifically which I don't believe my friend and I did correctly. The end result is this nasty grinding noise when I slightly press on my brakes. When I slam on them, they brakes stop on a dime.
