I keep reading about people having weird noise coming from there 03/04 M's brakes (mine just sound bad and don't vibe or anything and only at high speeds). Mine seems to do it the hotter I get my rotors. Has anyone replaced rotors and found this to be the fix? And where is there a good set of aftermarket rotors? Infinity wants 130 each!

depends how many miles you have on your car. mine has 49k and it started to shake/vibrate hard when it gets warm (espicially in the hwy)

i went to the dealer and yes, its expensive....and all the local automotive store doesnt even CARRY THEM!!!

so i took it off and brought it to PEPBOYS and have them RESURFACED it. it cost $10/rotor. and i bought a new pads (had to be reordered---no one stocks them also) and my car had to sit on jackstand overnight...but put them on right away and now it brakes like a brand new car.

just shows how rare this car is and that it doesnt share any parts with other infiniti.

I got 44K on mine and I will definetly do what you did....how bad was it taking the rotors off? And did you do all 4 or just the front? My car feels like it just needs the front done.

well, i inspected it all (4) and noticed just the front is warped. so i just took off the front. resurfaced the rotor and bought new pads. eventually i will do the rear sometimes soon.

just a reminder, make sure you order your PADS before you take it off. coz 99% they have to order it. and get it from ADVANCE AUTO, not only its cheaper, they can get it OVERNIGHT.

as far as doing it.....REALLY easy. but then again, i did 5 brake job this year between 3 of my cars and my bikes.

you need a breaker bar, 14mm socket(to take off the caliper), 22mm socket (to take off the caliper holder), (or close/open wrench), and C clamp.

I put on the rotors and pads from Jason Burtman. Very happy with them. I have pictures I can email you if you want.

I thought I put those on Larry? Haha just kidding. Are they still good or have they started to rust yet?

I put the cut factory rotors on with the new Raybestos ceramic pads and the car is now giving me a steering shake left to right when i brake. Any ideas?

Did you do the work yourself?? Its hard to imagine that they warped already. It could be the the rears though. Did you have this vibration before you did the new pads and resurface??

Well I broke down and just went and got the new rotors from Infiniti. 135 each! OUCH! They are now working perfectly! I think the young kid who cut them at the auto store jacked em up...

Hmmm ... did you try http://www.everythinginfiiti.com? They are one of our sponsors here and always treat us right! Joe Tsensky is the guy to ask for.

I think that the price for OEM Infiniti rotors from them is about $81 each (plus some shipping, of course).

Sorry I did not mention this before, but I plug these folks often (Joe Tsensky and http://www.everythinginfiniti.com is the Internet parts arm of Scottsdale Infiniti).

I hate to say this now, but I did ebay rotors on my Legend and never had a problem in 15k miles. They cost $115 for all 4. Drilled and slotted.

That will be what I try on my M45.

I did the rotors from one of the Ebay sellers as well. I have not had any problems for almost 5K miles and they havent started to rust yet either. Now, some will ask, are they any better than the stock OEM rotors?? I dont know if there is a way to compare them like that. I just know that for the price(about half of OEM ones) I am willing to try them out and if something happens, Ill just buy another set.
