An interesting cost saving trick might be: oem front rotors with decent aftermarket rear rotors since the rears are solid the gains/losses of precise cast iron formulation are more limited compared to front where vane number, thickness, curvature, etc are very important. After all 70% of the braking is supposed to be on the front.
Another good indicator is the wear of front vs rear inside pads, since they start out the same thickness they should wear the same............tells you that things are balance or shifted............you can get yourself where the front pads last longer than the rears this may point to initial bite and friction curve problems.
Change/ truing all at the same time gives you data when taken over 3-4 warps as to what is working rear vs front.
