now i know there are threads about this but i think mine is kinda specific... the thing is, the rust is not on the rotor itself but rather on the part where you bolt the wheel on...i don't know what it's called but it's the center of the rotor that's raised and has direct contact with the wheel...see i just changed my stocks with the g35 rays wheels and i'm almost regretting getting those because my rotors are more visible, which i don't mind except the rust are also very visible...i know some regiment are to drive and break hard but like i said, the rust is on the center thing..so any advise for a cheap remedy is really needed..if i were to replace rotors, where do i buy and how much is it for a set? please help...thx

Sounds like you're talking about the rotor hats. Why not just paint that area with caliper paint like the g-2 kit? while you're painting them you can paint the calipers as well.

The part where the rim meets the rotor? Thats definatly the Rotor Hat. Hats get rusted. Water gets trapped down in the contact points. It happens. You can scrub it with a wire brush and put an oil based anti-rust product to defer the rusting.

Eh, If I was you, I would get them powdercoated. Thats a high contact area, paint will chip off easily

alright...im really sorry for all the questions...how much is the powder coating? is that what u did to yours? do everyone who changes their wheels needs to do this...im so lost...also since it's only the hat of the rotor where the wheel sits is rusted, would it really chip? i dont think it comes contact with the caliper

It doesn't come in contact with you caliper however it is the contact point for your wheel, brake disc, and driveshaft hub. There is a lot of torque and friction going to that centralized point at any given time.

I haven't painted mine. No need to, you can't notice it with my wheels.

Powder coating will probably be around $100
