honestly, it's nothing new. a system was designed back in the 70's that used this exact setup. part of the problem is there are some serious flow issues, because of turbulence and sealing issues, if it was really a viable creation, it would have been in production since the 70's, because theoretically, it is a great system.

If ford could do something right for once, they could produce the most efficient engines in the world... but ford ALWAYS has to fucup. I was hoping the rx-8 would be good... but they messed up again. Hopefully if they re release the rx-7... they will do it right. 500 hp out of a 1.3.....

yeah, i saw that a few years ago.

talk about a pain in the *** to implement. in theory, its a great idea, but think about the logistics of sealing that rotating valve against combustion, keeping it lubricated, and the flow disturbance it creates.

Not to mention that to convert over to rotary valves (if possible) you'd need a new head.

No thanks, I'll stick to my regular ones.

neat looking though...it reminds me of sitting around and turning a spigot on and off repeatedly...

the point would be to implement it in new engines...
