I just rotated my tires on my 2006 M45 and the pressure gauge monitor in the computer is not reading the psi. I called the dealer (Serramonte)where I purchased my car and the service rep said they need to reconfigure the settings and they are going to charge me $ 40.00. Has this happen to anyone else? Also if you purchase new wheels for your car does it need to be reconfigured?

If you simply drive around a while, the monitors will eventually reset themselves, as far as I recall. Yes, the tool helps do it quicker for sure.

Did you do the tire rotation yourself? If you used a tire place or dealer, ask them to do it as a matter of course after the rotation! My local Goodyear tire place does this for free after the rotation (not that I need it, since I do not have the TPMS), but I asked about it!

I just replaced my OEM tires with Nokian WR tires. It took 15 minutes of driving at over 50 MPH and they worked again.

let me shed some light on this

all newer model M's all have the same problem. if you rotate the tires the sensors have to be reinitialized with the consult at the dealership. only m's do this..not g35's. and its stupid because we do not get paid by infiniti to reinitialize them

This is strange, I had my tires rotated at 7500 miles, the TPMS did not register. I drove for approximately 35 miles and they showed back up. I did not have to go back to the dealer to have the sensors reinitialized.

they won't tell you that they did it after the service...they may have done it and you not know it. but it happens to just about all of 'em.

Well as it turns out I had to bring my car back in after the tire rotation; they had to paint the door jamb they gouged when the replaced the seat rails. I talked to the service manager and he was not aware that the TPMS would not register after the tire rotation.

I don't really understand your comment that "they won't tell you that they did it after the service...they may have done it and you not know it". If you mean that they reinitialized the sensors, why would it have taken 35 miles for the tire pressures to show up?

I don't bring my 2006 M35 to the dealer for maintenance (complete rip-off) and have had the tires rotated by another mechanic and the tire pressure sensors worked fine.

In fact, this weekend, the temp dropped in the Northeast and my car started beeping with a (!) near the temp gauge - I first thought that I was having a coolant issue but it turned out to be the low pressure sensor for the tires. Topped up the tires and the sensor shut off after about 5 miles of driving.
