I see these wheels all over and I have to say they do look pretty good and are a cheap alternative to meisters. So anyways, I'm browsing through them on different sites and I see that one of the color choices is black. I don't really understand this as on Rota's website black isn't even a choice. I was thinking about getting a set of these but I wanted them in gunmetal not black. I'm kinda thinking they're getting the two mixed up but I'm not sure.

So, can someone clear this up for me? Also, I would like to know the best width to get any wheels is for a spirited DD you might say. I was thinkin arond 8" but it seems like everyone says "wider is better" and goes 9" or 10" in the back.

All opinions welcome. Thanks.

My opinion is that you should get Elites instead if you want that style for cheap. The Elites are available in 17x9+15 in black. The best size D2 you can get is 17x8.5+20.

Also, the Elites have a flat lip while the D2's have this little step thingie that make the lip look even smaller.

Bottom line... Elites > D2. Just my opinion though.

I'm not familiar with those. Is there a site that carries them?

Wow, great info dude, thanks. I remember that thread now that I saw it again but I guess I didn't think much of it at the time. Now that I take a closer look, you're right about the lip on the D2s. The elites look 10x better.

About those, do you think 9" is a little much for DD or would it be ok? This is gonna be my first car and DD so I don't wanna have to pay out the *** for tires. The slight roll and camber adjustment is fine, I just don't wanna be broke after I buy tires.

17x9+15 is fine for a DD. I don't know why it wouldn't be... Hell, I'm planning 17x9.5+15 for mine.

The tires will be pricey for this size though. I think you may want to hunt around for inexpensize brands to use, like Federal...

^ Do they come in 17x8 with a say +5 or something like that? I looked around and tires were around $140 a piece for the x9s.

^ Dang those are some great prices, and the reviews seem to be good about them.

I've never heard of sumitomo before though.

Anybody used them before? Is there already athread about them?
