I am piecing my sound system together slowly and hope to have it all ready for install this spring. I have all my speakers and am purchasing my amps shortly, I have a lot of experience with home audio but very little with car audio. I need to know what specifically I will need to buy in terms of wiring etc.

SPEAKERS

Pioneer Premier 6.75" Component Spk (TS-D720C) - 260wPioneer Premier 6x9" Spk (TS-D902P) - 360wPioneer Premier 10" Sub (TS-W2500) - 3000w max, 800w nominal

AMPS

Pioneer Premier 4-Channel Amp (PRS-4200F) - 600w RMSPioneer Premier Mono Amp (PRS-D1200M) - 600w RMS

1. What kind of wiring/amp kit do I need? Best brand? Best place to buy?

2. I am using the stock head unit temporarily, I know these amps can run off a factory HU, but do I need to buy different wires?

3. Will my factory battery be able to handle this? Should I upgrade battery? Will I need Capacitors?

4. Will I need to (or should I) upgrade the big 3?

5. Is the mono amp powerful enough for the sub?

I know most this information is scattered around these forums, but I want some expert advice for the specific speakers/amp that I am buying. I hope to do a lot of the install myself with help from a buddy who knows about installs. I like knowing everything before I do any work so any advice will help a great deal! Thanks.

for mids the 600 amp should do fine,it will probably push it but not full. it will sound pretty good if you are atleast pushing the rms

to hook up the sub to the amp i would hook it up at 2 ohm if you can

wire kit i would go with a 0 gauge but you can get away with a 4 gauge. make sure to get the spliter for the 2 amps

it would be a good idea to get a better battery, like a optima. and a capacitor is another good idea so your battery dosent die when listening to music while the car is off. while listening to music loudly and driving your voltage will surge to the beat *kinda* it happened to me with a stock battery and no capacitor

for the amps and headunit, im not sure if pioneer has the kit. i would just get a base model unit for now and then get a better one

im sorry if i didnt answer all your questions

*forgive my bad spelling*

A capacitor will not help keep the battery from dying by any stretch of the imagination. The capacitor is designed to discharge much faster than a battery. So it will provide the proper current to reproduce a bass note properly. When a bass note hits, the capacitor discharges completely in less than a second. Then has to recharge before the next bass note hits. So as you can see, it would do nothing to help act as a another battery. Adding a second battery will obviously help when the car is off, but will only create more of a load on the alternator when the car is running. So the ultimate solution is a bigger alternator if necessary.
