Hello everyone ! I brougt my wife a 2007g35x and this thing is baddd.
I took the car for a 150 mile ride to N.J from upstate new york and wow I cant belive the power ban from 80 mph to 100! This thing is a rocket ! I cant get over the pull this car has. I had to trade in a 2004 maxima sl with a bad transmission and the only thing that really apealed to me was the g35 or 37 and I feel like I won the lottery. It was a quiet sunday afternoon with very little traffic and me and a guy driving a new honda had some fun. Well I had fun, cuz he couldn't keep up with me. I was amazed at how i could just pull away from him with easy! I already told my wife, if I by anything and I do mean anything , other than an infinti , to shoot me.

Im not to much into mods but i am digging some of the looks.wheels tint etc. Please feed me with known common problems to expect and maitenace reconmendations .. thanks in advanced soon to be friends

pics coming soon

Welcome to NICO

I'm glad you are enjoying your G.

A word to the wise

NJ State Troopers seem to have a fondness for pulling over drivers from out of state as I try to notice the plates of the vehicles they pull over. Many have NY plates. This is also true when I drive from NJ to Florida. Out of state drivers are given less leeway by the police in whatever state you are in.
It can become quite costly if you ever get charged with driving at 100MPH
Do it at the track.
Just my $.02

jarrod, welcome to NICO

I have a similar vehicle, 2007 G35s sedan, so I know the feeling. Granted, when I want to go fast I take my coupe ;)

There's really not much to look out for. The VQ35HR is a strong motor and unless you have issues with oil blow-by then you should be fine. Just monitor your oil level the next few months to make sure you don't have this issue. Take the car in for an alignment too and make sure you don't have a toe problem as I've been bit by that once. Otherwise it should be a good vehicle if it were previously maintained properly.

Audatious I love your whip that thing is sick :) the car has 71000 miles on it and would you reconmend dealership for service or a good import mechanic? What oil do you reconmend how about 5w 30 castrol edge the only other problem I see with the car is right after you start on the gas it does a little hesitation and then it goes is this somthing common?

Thanks

I use Infiniti for all my coupe maintenance and loosely follow their Schedule 2 maint plan as listed in the Service and Maintenance guide for both of my G's. 5w-30 is the proper oil to use.

VQ35HR is the dual-TB version of the VQ35DE that came in your Maxima.

car should be fine... especially if 60k maintence was done. The Infiniti G is very easy to work on your self, so before you decide to take it in to the dealer or mechanic check out the FSM for you car and see if you can do it your self. Save your self some money while getting more connected to your car.

I agree, it's pretty easy to work on.
