Car: 2000 Infiniti I30

Post

Hello fellow NICOs. :wavey: I've got a 2000 I30. I try to do the majority of my maintenance on my own. I'm a real DIY kinda guy! Just me, my very limited tools, my 99'-00' Maxima Chilton Manual, and my one car garage. :woot:

I'm assuming I'll spend most of my time in the Maxima forums as opposed to the Infiniti forums? I'm pretty sure I've got the same car as the 2000 Maxima. Would I be a 4th Gen or a 5th Gen Maxima? Is there a way to tell from my VIN? :gotme

I look forward to chatting with all my fellow NICOs! :naughty:

Welcome aboard, sir!

Let me offer you this first: Toss that Chiltons, here's the real Factory Service Manual: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/I30/2000%20I30/

Thanks for your service, and the Maxima AND I30 guys here will be a huge help.

Welcome! And you are correct: the I is essentially a Maxima. A 5th gen Maxima in the case of your 2000. The only real differences are cosmetic.
