I want to buy a roof spoiler and I am torn apart between two models, the OEM and the Stillen. I would like your opinion and why one over the other. Here are the choices:

1) 2) 3)

Thanks all !

My vote is for the OEM spoiler. That's the one I would get if/when I can ever scrape up enough loot.

I like the simple look. It just looks like it belongs there. I like it over the other two because those choices make me feel like I would have to go more super-modification to the car.

OEM spoiler....it takes like 30min to install at most.

Bob has it for the best price at Versaspeed.

I agree with what this guy said. I think the Stillen spoiler calls for more to be done to the car, while the OEM one kind of stands alone pretty well. Depending on what route you're going, that's how I'd choose. I am not a big fan of the third one, though.

Sounds like an engineer with a racing background who just can't make up his mind.

Go with the OEM look there my friend, you just can't go wrong with it, it really seems to complete the hatchback.

Sigh... we all know that's the one I'm voting for... I don't really like the Stillen (I don't understand the two flippy-dos) and I like using my bikerack (which I wouldn't be able to do with either the Stillen or the OEM) ... I did toss around purchasing the IMPUL wing for awhile (because I could paint it like the tails on the Camel with a flash and identifying numbers) but I don't have $600 to invest in a spoiler... and now IMPULusa's website is being all non-existent and stuff...

Well... hum... At least two people are voting like you !

More seriously, I'm no engineer, far from it, I'm just a guy who can't make up his mind I wanted to buy it this summer to be able to install in before Fall. I said to myself, "if 25 vote for a wing, I'll get it. If not, I'll wait for next year". I guess it'll be added to my list of things to buy next year, along with new wheels.

For what it's worth, I like the wing. I'm not sure how the whole car would look with it on there, so that's something I would need to see. I can agree with Kimber's point about the bike rack, and that would be enough for me to change my answer to the wing, if I had a bike rack (which I don't).

I would see if anyone has the wing so I could see it in person and see if I really liked it. If you like it, and can afford it, then by all means get it. You'll automatically set your car apart from the other ones on the road.

And remember, everyone loves pictures. We want to see what you see.

Ok... I'm confused ! What's the difference between a wing and a spoiler ? I want the OEM one, and that's a Spoiler, right ? The really curved one is a wing, right ?

I do agree that Kimber's car would look good with a wing.

Can I ask a stupid question? What's the purpose of a rear spoiler on a front-wheel drive car? It can only hurt traction, correct?

Since that small of a rear spoiler is going to take a LOT of speed before it affects the car's dynamics at all (probably 100+ MPH... doable, but you're never going to cruise that fast), it is strictly for cosmetics.

Hey speak for yourself

Some of us cruise at those speeds...........well sometimes..............when the freeways here in so cal let you............which almost never!

I am having the stock Nissan Spoiler/Wing put on my Versa and the rear bumper smoothie and will have pictures in a few days.

But I think any of them could look good depending on how the rest of the car is going to be done.

I'd probably go with the OEM myself....but if that wasn't an option then I'd go with the custom one over the Stillen one. I'm not a big fan of spoilers on most cars though....don't ask me why, I'm just not.

But I think that Stillen one looks downright silly...

Just an update... I got the wood and dash trim spoiler (the one that rounds over the car like a PT Cruiser spoiler) and here's the update...

It doesn't exactly fit, so my body shop is going to alter and smooth it for me so that it fits. This'll take a day or two, but since I need to get a weapon and my concealed carry, it'll be awhile before I can advise on how it turned out and how good it looks...

Until then, buyer beware on that particular product.

I'm confused about this "wood and dash trim spoiler" - what is that exactly?

It's number three up top, the white one... it's from a company called wood dash and trim or some such.

Oh, okay, I gotcha. I was envisioning some wood dash-trim spoiler...and it wasn't working out.
