btw, what does the forum think of our other options:Looking at Ford Edge Sport, Mitsubshi Outlander, Jeep Grand Cherokee (srt8) or the Chevy Equinox (ugh).
the ex is the high point price wise, but I just can't stomach the styling of the rogue.
CR-V = cute ute also, but with that HP might as well take public transportationRAV4 V6 = the most powerful option after EX35, but i mean..i'm so sick and tired of the Rav4 (needs a new look)..and no xenon ( i have slight night blindness) ~ tho consumer report did rate this as the best CUV to buy, 4 cyl and V6 versionsRDX = just came from an acura, hate the stealership, and at this point i am convinced the worksmanship and quality of Acura is not what it used to be..the inside of the EX outshines the RDX like CRAZYXC60 = for the price it came out to with everything I wanted....i hated the looks and it was just OKAY - also it just got bad ratings on a few reports (forget which mags i had read it from)X3 = eww omg wtf (sorry its efficient, i give you that, but after all the problems i had in my 335i i've just about had it with BMW...CX-7 = also a viable option, the 2010 version is very aggressive looking and came with pretty good bang for the buck. Then you goto the forums and all you see are problems....also the new navi screen is like this tiny excuse of a navigation stuck on top of the dash...it's kind of pathetic...and u know around here we like to...well...measureFord Edge = a lil bigger than the others, but it is a very good car, the duratec V6 needs to be phased out for a more powerful ecoboost 4 or even 6 (wishful thinking) and the lack of xenon on a 40k ford was kind of
to be honest i REALLY REALLY Like the styling cues of the current Ford Edge Sport, and i have to admit, the ford edge seats are probably the most comfortable seats i've ever sat in second to maybe my dad's S63. The Sync system beats everything in the market unless you went full custom. however, the brakes are not so hot, actually very soft, and the pick up was NOT there. or rather it was just avg. on top of all of that, the new Ford Edge is just around the corner. Tho i am not for buying a NEW car off the line (made that mistake with the TL) which is the MAIN reason i chose not to get the Q5....i will never buy a first gen make of a car i will always wait until the MY cycle update/shift so 99% of the kinks are worked out.
Outlander is a bit...on the ugly side, even if it has the EVO front fascia update...
SRT8 grand cherokee will be getting a new update soon. Actually Jeeps models are all gone but one. and it's actually based on the same platform as the ML. again, however, that falls outside the range of the EX, it becomes actual SUV vs CUV.
I would say the Equinox is a great car (i think it's built on the theta II platform no?) but i think there were a few recalls so i'm not sure about it's reliability.
The 2.8T SRX that's out comes with 300HP.... could be a good one, i actually kinda like that car too, but again, new model, first year, no go for me anymore.
Ultimately it's still the size that you need to decide on. I rarely carry passengers, and at most 1 if there is. Tho on a snowboarding trip i did have 3 boards up there, my rails are from factory cuz i got the prem pkg.
based on what ur looking at, i'm going to assume u will opt in for the prem pkg as well, so u got the rails. I have the ski/board rack from the dealer and i like it.
The RDX is an okay drive, actually great, they fixed alot of the problems they were having. but if ur looking for a smooth ride..again the VTEC makes that "kick" which i kinda miss, but does not have the smooth curve like nissan engines have. also if you ever actually studied the trunk...it's ugly man...like u dont mind it that much if u just glance, but when you really stand behidn it, open it, close it....and then LOOK at it...blehh
decide quick! before the 31 for the tax return!! (thank you obama)

happy shopping
