So I noticed this on the roof rack and its only on the driver side. Anyone else have issues with the paint on the roof rack? Hopefully this should be covered under warranty (The car is only 15 months old). Sure don't make them like they use to.

Maybe it's just me, but looking at the picture it doesn't seem like a paint issue. It looks like a piece of the silver colored plastic covering the roof rack broke off.

@ Maximuss099 - Can you upload a picture? I am going to show the dealer and want to show him that it is an issue with the rack should be covered under warranty.

Sorry ,there's no recall for it. A month a go i went to my dealer and showed him whats happening. He then ordered parts, and i had them changed yesterday. The only recall he did at the same time
was for the air bag( R1609).

I noticed that all 4 roof rack bases had the same issue as yours. Passed by the dealer yesterday and was told there's a service bulletin for that. Going in next week to have them changed.

I had the same issue on both my 2014's roof rails and they were replaced by the dealer under the three year bump-to-bump warranty. The service adviser said that if your three year warranty was up you were on your own. They actually had the replacement roof rails in stock so I'm thinking it's a common problem.

I also had the same problem with my 2014 rouge. Since I use the vehicle for work I am past the mileage that is covered under the warranty. First asked the dealer and then filed a compliant with the consumer affair of Nissan USA. Of course they denied the claim to get it fixed since it out of warranty.

This will be my first and last Nissan that I will own  .

Yes, exact same issues on my 2015 Nissan Rouge. The whole roof rack I saw showing large amounts of silver coating delaminating from the rack. Took the vehicle into the dealer and they were, too bad but your 7K outside your warranty and your on your own. First and last Nissan!

I am experiencing paint peeling on the silver roof rack posts on the Rogue. Has anyone experienced this? I will try to take some photos of the paint peeling.

Gee Whiz, that was helpful, never would have thought of that on my own. (insert sarcasm) BTW I was in touch with the Nissan dealer and they were of little to NO help. Last time I buy a Nissan.

Just got a used '14 SV, with that roof rail issue.

my '14 is out of warranty, so i'm guessing the dealer's not going to help with this issue.

anyone do a simple fix/cover up on their own? i was thinking of just the spots down, and using some kind of sealant/lacquer/paint or something just to keep it from peeling.

thanks in advance.

Same issue on my 2015. Gonna beat them up about it next week...only have 30K miles with my OEM warranty running until Nov 2018...guess I'm getting free, new parts!
If it happens again out of warranty, gonna wrap the whole thing in duct/gorilla camo tape and be done with it!

My 2016 Rogue is having the same issues. Saw this July this year. Just got off of the phone with the dealer and since manufacturer warranty is expired , they will not cover it. My son has a 2015 Rogue. and his was covered. Doing the same on mine , under front supports are pealing. Any recourse to followup on this ?

Mine never did that. Anyways, you could plasti-dip it black.

Looks pretty decent and oem looking.

If you want more durable, use Spray-on truck-liner. It has a nice texture to it too.

I used both and touched up here and there.

Or just paint it.
