I didn't know where else to post... so here it is...

Does anyone know how the phone system works in the Infiniti J30 line? Is it possible to use it for more modern personal cell phones?

If you're referring ot the existing phone syustem wired into the mid 90's Infiniti's, I don't think so, as they were designed to support analog phones. We have a regular that's "cellular expert" over in Infiniti General and it's been discussed and unless you have an existing analog phone and the accompanying service, no cellular company will give/get you analog service.

Might be worth searching for "analog" in the archived Infiniti General forum keeping an eye out for posts by szhosain.

Ok... I think I know what you are saying (about analog phone system).

I guess what I am asking is if anyone's managed to rewire the system to support modern digital phones (using the speakers and the built-in mic).

I'll do a search on "analog"... thanks...

I can't find the posts where szhosain discussed this, but you can replace all the pieces and just utilize the locations they exist in, but cannot use them.
