Hows your gasket/seal? also does it close flat or is it sagging?

rubber gasket is not the problem. pour water in channels with roof open-make sure both the front and rear drains run free to the ground,if all drains run free, most likely need major repair/replacement of components{rails/shade,etc} not cheap,as mine was done under warranty years ago, around 1000 if I recall.

The gasket is one continuous piece the gap is the result of the gasket failing and it separates at the stress point rear center...........fill in gap with black RTV.

Exactly. Thats how I fixed the leak on my Maxima, except I used orange RTV due to a lack of concern for looks.

But the gap is not the source of your leak. I lived with that gap on Q1 for about ten years with no ill effects... never even noticed wind noise from it...

And the leak occur thru what solid metal it must come around the gasket..................failure tp properly treat the runner with WURTH rubber dressing and maintain flexibility...................sure the drain are critical but not if ZERO water has gotten in!

Agreed... I clean my gasket regularly (every spring when I lube the sunroof) and use protector on it like tech said...

I had that problme on my old Q as well and cleaning the drain holes really helped.

For what it's worth (MHO)...Likewise had a leak, sealed gap at rear of gasket (1/4" slit) with black silicone. So far no more leaks...btw, we've had about 200" of rain in the last 9 months...

Tech - thanks for the tip - used Black RTV and now have a perfect seal. Next big rain when car is not in garage will be the determining factor.BTY my drain holes are clean and clear.

You would know better than I would... but I was always under the impression that sunroof gaskets were mostly to keep out wind noise - not be completely water tight. With the idea that the drains and gasket would work together...

Every Spring...........this almost hundred dollar gasket need every 90 day care [spray wait, wipe clean and respray] as do all rubber components.............Wurth for the soft, Silicone for the harder materials.

Kind of like cleaning and treating tires...............not sure annually is enough.
