1/ can someone point/show the specific difference between the oem and sarona trunk spoilers? I haven't been able to find a side by side image of the two mounted or otherwise.

2/ for the guys that have gotten them after the fact, how did you get them painted? Was it painted after mounting so it was blended, or painted beforehand? If it was painted beforehand can you tell the paint difference?

3/ has anyone had any issues, especially with the roof spoiler?

Can't speak to the difference between the trunk spoilers as I always had aftermarket ones on my M.

As for the roof spoilers I've never heard of anyone having issues with it. I still have my Sarona one for sale if you're interested. Or are you looking for the rubber trunk/roof eBay combo?

I want to say the Sarona trunk spoiler is an exact replica of the OEM and is painted with your car's color code. I plan on getting both in the future and not to worried about the match. Both pieces sit on the car in such a way that unless the match was a total fail you're not gonna notice a tiny difference in color.

Another option is RED_DET, a user on this forum. He has trunk spoiler OEM on his website.

Actually I find that in the right light you can most definitely tell the difference. Here are some reasons.
- The base material makes it a different tint. For example the same color code on plastic looks different than on metal. It also depends on the base prime coat color but most shops down sand that down to bare material to respray.

- Paint that has been exposed to sunlight over time fades ever so slightly but enough that it can be seen when an original part is painted and put side-by-side. That's why car repair shops tend to blend adjoining panels that are of the same material whereas different materials they do not.

- Custom painting can match exact color including any fading, blending based on material differences so I would recommend that over getting it pre-painted if you are really worried about look.

This is my feeling. My problem is I feel like every light is the right light lol. I seem to spot a lot of paint work, and difference between bumper and fender paint. That's why I worry.

Fully agree.

Yeah, so this would require mounting it before painting...and blending will cost more. Oh well, things to consider. Thanks.

Not necessary to mount it just bring it in with the car and order it unpainted.

The place where I would prefer to get it painted wants $150 to paint and $150 to mount. Before I start nickel and diming and calling every shop, is $150 reasonable to paint it?
