Ron Paul’s bill to audit the Federal Reserve (HR 1207) now has 112 co-sponsors, and the numbers keep growing!

This is history in the making, and victory is within reach. Imagine what will happen if HR 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act, comes up for vote in Congress! With 25% of Congress already co-sponsoring this bill, it has real potential to pass — BUT only if we educate and rally the people to support it and get our Congresspeople to put it to vote and pass it.

good stuff. Ron Paul has good ideas but without the persona he gets drowned out. This could get legs though.

179 Cosponsors [as of 2009-05-22]

something tells me that the fed has a fake audit to show...

also

http://www.infowars.com/bill-t...entum/

They will probably allow the audit once they have created as second set of books with a bunch of fake destinations and figures. If these people own Washington, you know they won’t reveal any truth to the audit. If they were crooked before, they will be crooked during the audit. Why wouldn’t they…they know they are above the law and own the land. I would be surprised if it turned out to be a legitimate audit. It’s probably going to just be another circus show to make us feel good.

Are you kidding me? When you started this thread three weeks ago you sounded pretty gung ho about it and now you're already making excuses about its potential ineffectiveness?

I'm not the biggest fan of our government and certainly see room for improvement in many areas but why don't you give RP's bill a chance and see what happens before you start preaching doom & gloom? Had this bill not garnered any support I can only imagine your theories about a shadowy conspiracy, what would be an outcome that you could get behind and support?

Honestly, you don't sound much different from a kid that wants a dog for his birthday only to complain when he finally gets it becaause he has to take it for a walk.

actually far from it.

btw the bold wast quoted by me, its from a user on the site, commented.

but lets say for example. you own this big shop and someone wants to see your inventory, you try to not show him, but in the end you did show him but only a fake inventory (not showing him everything) because u knew he was gonna ask you to see. you gather up the time to make some changes and generated a fake inventory so that customer would be happy.

i want this bill to pass :o

Cool cool, I had no idea the bold part wasn't yours. That completely changes the way I read your post.

The thing is that the Fed's got a long way to go cook up some books to cover years of potential malfeasance on their part. If they were to somehow pull it off only to be discovered later it would only demonstrate what many already suspect: they're far better at cheating the American public than they are at serving it.

I don't know if the Fed will actually do some Enron style accounting though, I think RP's bill may have caught them completely flat-footed and they might not have the time to do it and it really can't be something the Fed was ever really expecting and consequently had a contingency plan for.

I'd like to see this bill pass.

That said, the idea that the Fed could somehow cook up a bunch of fraudulent books to cover YEARS of activity is absolutely absurd. I know those weren't the words of anyone here, personally, but I just wanted to "get it said".

I tend to be only minimally skeptical of the Fed, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't welcome the transparency.

If your representative is not on the following list of HR 1207 co-sponsors, call their offices, write to them, email them. Let them know they need to support HR 1207. If you live in their district, let them know. Go to their office.

In 2007, Don Black, webmaster for the KKK website stormfront.org, gained attention for donating very large sums of money to Ron Paul's 2008 presidential run.

I guess I would be for the bill only if it allows for auditing and fact finding. If the bill leads to Congress gaining control over the Fed, we may have some major issues down the road.

We need to END THE FED!!

Ron Paul’s bill to audit the Federal Reserve (HR 1207) now has 226 co-sponsors, and the numbers keep growing! At the same time, HR 1207’s companion bill in the Senate, S 604, is now beginning to attract its first co-sponsor!

An end to the Fed? I think that's a little over the top. If it weren't for the Fed, who would be helping to control inflation? Our inflation rates would be so volatile that it would lead a very unstable economy and one that would probably end up failing.

Conspiracy theorist I see.

I love the conspiracies of how an institution decides it wants to attempt to take out the US when that institution is in the US. If the US goes away, where does the institution go?

We've gone from a simple auditing bill to provide transparency to a conspiracy theory. This is all over the place, and when threads start getting all over the place, they get the good ole
