Ok I finally joined nico, surfed it for info and decided to join. I've owned my vert for about a year and a half now. I use it as my DailyDriver here in Phoenix so i haven't done much to it just an ebay intake and K&N filter. Ride wise right now its sitting on tein springs and KYB struts, rims are XXR's. also added godspeed swaybars to stiffen it up. the good part is all my windows work, dash is great, only a "small" dent on DS front fender. The bad is of course the door panels are coming apart and my top needs replaced but thats gonna cost about 1250 so until it blows off im good :)

heres what pics i have. best pic i have so far.

if you notice the dirt it cause i park in my yard lol

Welcome. Top replacement shouldn't be much more than $700 at the most. Can get an interior shop to fix the door panels.

Seems to vary by area. When I did mine, the cheapest I found in area was $1100, and it was a hike. At the same time, this guy I know got his done in WV for $500. :squint:

Anyway, welcome to NICO dude! car looks good, looks like you've got some positive camber up front? Might want to take it in for alignment

Yeah I talked to 2 shops about the top and both said between 1200-1300 but I haven't shopped around to much cause I really don't want to replace it until I have to. I could go the cheaper route and get a vinyl top by I've seen one with it and to me it looked just bad. And the car is aligned I think it's just a weird visual effect my camera is giving it, had it at the shop when I did the suspension work.

You could do what Biggie is suggesting and buy your own top and take it in to get it installed, it'll save you a couple hundred. The only problem is that most shops won't warranty the work if you bring in your own top. And that warranty (parts and labor), if provided, is pretty damn useful. I had a small leak, they fixed it, the back window started to wrinkle, they fixed it.

Yeah that is and option, I'm gonna go down to another shop that's closer to me and see what they quote me on either top idea. And thanks cmkelly ive seen them on other 240's but they were always gunmetal and I figured gold on white would look better.

Insane that its that much more. I was quoted $350 for labor from interior/boat shop, after they finished it was only $300.

Well so far it seems like the going rate is between 1000-1200 and biggie's is the fortunately cheap exception. And I'd I had any lck I'd do it myself but my last repair went from a 11 dollar thermostat to a $150 snapped bolt.

After reading the write up on DIY top removal and reinstall, I'm pretty sure that its something I may let somebody else do - and I've got 25 plus years of replacing tops on LeBaron, Geo Metro, TR6, Spitfires, and other misc ragtops over the years. I would second anyone who recommends getting a canvas top for AZ. I've had both, and the hartz pinpoint vinyl shrinks and rips way too damn easy out here.

Yeah canvas looks best on them only thing that I think could be better is if some how someone had a hard top vert like a lot of new cars do. Also I swear to god it seems like something is always F'ing up on my ride transmission wasnt shifting when it should and started stalling on deceleration. I think I need to take that damn thing in for a full inspection and tune up cause this s*** annoying.
