My thoughts would be that if you took a hacksaw and slightly cut/notched the lip say every few inches as it curves around the wheelwell, then took either a metal working hammer or some large flat vise-grips to crimp the lip against the exsisting fender edge it would do the trick for you. Also with either way I would suggest that you put something on the 'good' side of the fender that would prevent from scratching the paint... Hope that this is useful to you! Have you thought about flaring your fenders?? That would give your car a distinctive look and would prevent from further damage from those tire rubbing...

Oh yeah, also with just folding in the lip you might still end up w/ the tires rubbing when you go around a turn b/c then depending on how you turn and your suspension status could cause the tires to move far enough toward the fender to rub more...

...Just my 2 cents...

well see the idea is when suspension compresses, negative camber increases...so i dont ahve to worry about SUPER hard compression...cuz the side will tuck into the fender...the only part that scrapes is the top edge of the tire and the inside of the lip...literally 1mm...i figure the easiest thing is to get a fender roller or something

I would think then that using the hacksaw and a small hammer method to slightly cut the lip and bend it out of the way would work...

Do you know why he said it was a bad idea??? If you can find out why then we might be able to find a solution to your problem...

And since you only need about 1mm you might just be able to tap the lip with a small hammer to bend it up that 1mm or so for clearance, and that shouldn't impead any strength of the fender itself if that is why you were told that cutting it was a bad idea...

For sure though if you decide to use a hammer to tap it out of the way be sure to take your time and move it little by little and go over it a few times to get it where you want it...

I think the best thing to do would be to put different tires on, sell your old ones (though they cant be that old), and get the right ones, 40 series i guess, better to replace then "reinvent" IMO.

I'm kind of thinking about doing the same thing to my 240. The only way I could imagine using a baseball bat to roll fenders would be to use the grip of the bat as a lever on the wheel hub, and roll the bat around the inside of the wheel well. Not only would this be inaccurate, it seems it would also loose the natural shape of the well. I think you may be able to find a good place near you who can roll fenders for you, or you can just buy your own fender roller. Be weary of shops that try to whack you like $500 for two wells, being that you can pick up a roller and do it yourself at half the cost (and just sell the roller when you're done).

This seems to be a good price for a fender roller (plus, I’ll buy it off of you when you're done ;) ). http://www.eastwoodco.com/shop...31158

Also - remember, if you can't do it right, then don't do it. Be patient with whatever technique you choose, and you will be rewarded.

you can do it with a wooden bat and a towel.wrap the towel over the bat to keep from cracking the paint, then lightly apply pressure to the edge to roll.it takes a while, and is dificult to do, but it turns out very nice when you're done.

Well I had the same problem, but my was worse my car is lowered 2.5” in the back thanks to a 150lb sub box, anyway, what I did was very simple I took a very long, about 3-4” in diameter, heavy metal pipe, I jacked up the car, put the pipe between the tire and the fender lowered the car, and rolled the pipe around, until the fenders were angled up pretty high, now I only rub on rare occasions

Ok, When you say roll your fender is this only to lower the inside lip of the fender or does it make a visible wider fender on the outside?

eh i ended up using a metal working mallet...it's a sledge hammer looking thing but the hammer end is more like <|> then [ | ]

worked nicely..no rubbing, no misshaping of the outside fender...just no lip either

the machine isnt to rool, its to pull. rolling is done with either a bat or a hammer, and always with heat.

friend of mien had to do this on his integra, take the bat. and stcik the part with the handle in the weheel weel.. pry up on the fenders. and roll the batt along them while lightign pulling up.. it takes a while. but the end result clears things for you its as simple as that

i'm telling you...use a medium sized metal hammer...it will work FINE...just tap gently but not like a ***** and it'll fold the lip up w/o effecting the outside of the fender...and the machine CAN be used to do this...it can ALSO be used to flare your fenders as well...the bat way is kinda dangerous because you can very well pull them too far and screw up the ouside of the fenders
