I have had my new 2010 Murano LE AWD for about two weeks now and have been loving it. I noticed that when I am stopped on a small incline, when I take my foot off the brake the Murano rolls backwards (like you would in a stick shift car). Usually that doesn't happen in an automatic since the transmission holds the car in place unless you're on a really steep hill.

Does anyone else have this same experience with their Murano? I'd like to figure out if this is just the way Muranos are (maybe because of the CVT?) or if there may be a problem that I need to have checked out.

Thanks!

I have noticed the same thing, and i am not a fan of it. it's prolly the CVT and part of it's "unique" attributes.

here is the thread i posed to the fourm regarding my CVT "issues", help-cvt-engine-braking-can-it-be-turne ... 91715.html

i know i'm of no help here, but i can certainly sympathize!

it most likely the CVT
but in my mom's 02 cherokee, (it's auto) if you're not holding brakes, and not in park, and not on the gas, and on a incline, gravity, wins.

Ours does the same. I've driven other 2nd Gen Mo's and same thing on hills - it's a feature, not a bug... :chuckle:
