Hi! I had the unfortunate displeasure of rolling my 97 pathfinder about 5 days ago. The windshield busted, so did both of the back windows. My left hand mirror ripped off and my right hand taillight is busted. Also, my rear hatch refuses to open. A whole lot of the body work is crumpled. I am completely broke, I'm waiting for my tax return so I can buy some parts and pay to have the windshield replaced.

So, these are my problems:

Can I realistically replace the taillight and mirror myself? I've been trying to source the parts and my options seem kind of limited.

How can I tell if my truck is structurally sound? There appears to be no damage to the frame anywhere, the roof seems fine inside and out. All my doors work except for the hatch, which makes me slightly suspicious.

Is there a good source for body work anywhere? I have seen some on an internet auction site but I pray that isn't my only option. I've tried auto salvage places in my area with no luck.

This may be a silly question, but can I replace fenders and the like by myself? I've never even explored doing this kind of thing before so I'm not even sure if it's possible.

Has anyone ever had their rear windows replaced? I have no idea if this is true either, but I was told by a friend I can just put some cardboard or something up in those windows and still be able to drive it on the road. If I can't do that, any ideas on how much this will cost?

I know that's a lot of questions for my first post, but I hope someone on here can help me. Thank you.

Man. . I'm sorry about your luck I don't have the answers . . my 91 Rodeo was 100% destroyed when I rolled it, but still ran. Only other thing I rolled was an 03 C230 Sport during a test drive That was fixed and resold. .

I'll check back here and at least offer you some emotional support

Welcome to NICO!

Well, Welcome, but i'm sorry to hear about your experience. My QX was rolled by the previous owner around 8 years ago, and it runs great (aside from a rust problem on the roof). Now here are my questions for you: Do you have any pics or can you take some pics so we can see what you're workin with here? Second, you asked about replacing the taillight...is it just broken and needs to be replaced? I am 99.9% sure that i still have 2 spare taillights, but they are from a QX4 if you are interested. The only problem with that is they are from when my truck was rolled so the left one has some scratches on the black molding part and i think it's slightly cracked but i've used them for about 3-4 years until i decided to get new ones because the black wasn't as black as i would have liked it to be (hah) and the scratches were bothering me. But i can try to get some pics up so you can see what i mean if you like. And the rear windows...you need both of them replaced?

sorry about your luck dude. i rolled my green pathfinder in november and my insurance company wrote the truck off and gave me $10,500 for it. i bought a black one and stripped the green one for all the aftermarket parts i had bought. ive got 01 taillights which i dont think will work for you and the taillights from the beautiful "99QX4" may not work. I believe the fittings on the back of the pathfinder are different from the QX4 taillight fittings. i know this for a fact on the 2001 models after buying aftermarket tailights that didnt fit. ive had my rear passenger side window replaced but that was all paid by insurance sorry i dont have an estimate. if your hatch wont open it could be because one of the rear quarter panels are bent or shifted. Just hope its not a frame issue.

anyway good luck

Thank you all for your responses. I'm really surprised/grateful you all responded so fast!

KoukiS14: Thanks for welcoming me! I accept your offer of emotional support I probably need it.

99QX4: I'm not sure what's exactly wrong with the taillight, the lens is cracked and all of the bulbs are broken, so I figured I would just straight up replace the whole assembly for good luck. I'm giving myself the benefit of the doubt and assuming the damage is only superficial and no wiring or electrical parts were damaged. I don't have any pictures, but I do have a crappy video I took with my phone highlighting the damage. Yeah, both back windows (the non-power ones the farthest ones back) are completely busted. I've already sent the video to your email. If I find out that those taillights from you will work, I am very interested in them.

Slickroger: I um...well I just got kinda scared when I rolled it so I just drove home. She runs fine and this was my first accident so I just left and went home (illegal i know) so no police report was filed and as far as my insurance is concerned, this accident never happened. As for the hatch, I hope you're right about it just being a quarter panel and not the frame. I think I said in my first post that I was almost sure the frame was fine, but I really can't be sure. Also, from the limited info I've gathered from this site, I think you're right about the taillights from 99QX4 not working, I have a 97 and I thought the new generation started with the 99.5 models. I could be absolutely wrong.
