In order to establish some sort of "grapevine" for parts and repair issues, who are our droptop owners? Post up and I'll edit the list....

My husband tells me that I own a drop top, but I still say it's his toy. But for giggles you can put me in there. :)

Welcome to Nico!!! What color is your 240? Ours is black with grey leather interior. Have you done any modifications yet? I can't wait until we can start.

First mods to be done are wheels and an exhaust system. Then maybe some small cosmetics until we save enough for a turbo with intercooler. Last I think will be the body kit.

Hi, new here and love the forums. I have owned my convertible for 4 years and I still love it. It is a 93, red, 195,000 miles with no major problems. I hope to get atleast 25,000 more without replacing the engine and trans. I really would like to find a boot but they are so expensive. Anyway I love the forum.

I got a vert. I got it a few weeks ago after I crashed my other 240. Already did a 5 speed and SR swap, but now I'm having crazy electrical problems :( . Anyway it's cool that we have this forum, add me to the list of drop top owners

nicomom - mines white but its got that tweed/cloth interior and worst carpeting i've ever seen (i took the opportunity to have my door panel inserts covered in white headliner b/c they were falling off, theyre hard as heck to keep clean but everyone tells me they look sweet :D )

..... and i havent really done any mods... mostly just tryin to get it to a respectable state before the fun stuff begins (i just yanked an alternator yesterday and im gunna throw the new one in tomorrow and i gotta say many thanks to those who have previously posted on how to yank one out)

btw guys let me kno if u think it would be pure insanity to try and get away with white carpeting in a daily driver? :)

it's actually not very hard. I'm in the middle of swapping a 5 speed SR into a red vert. You approach it like any 5 speed swap. You'll need to change the brake pedal to a 5 speed brake pedal, and add the clutch in. I would take the clutch master cylinder to sears and get an appropriate sized hole saw to make the hole for the MC's piston fork. Other than that, you need to trick the car into thinking it's in park, and you're done.

You know what, I'm gonna start a thread later about how to properly do a 5 speed swap on a vert. Good idea bart! -=pats self on back=-

Finally its great to see other owners have class driving a 240sx convert. It a head turner especially when the 17" 5 spoke wheels cruise down the road.

Enjoy folk, they are few and far between and soon will be harder to find. I want leather seats but can't get them in my home town but soon will when I move to Alberta (Edmonton).Cheers.
