It's that time...Now, who makes them for the S14 in the US?How many points are they?

Would it be worth it to develop a kit for the S13/S14?

the thing is I've been running outlaw class where they don't tech you for a cage. Now I want to run at Super Chevy and Nopi and they're telling me to cage it and get it certified.

Something like this would be perfect.but Cusco wants way too much money for their cages...Any other options?

cusco roll cages are built to meet Japan's regulations, not American regulations keep that in mind before asking a ref to allow your car onto the track.

Cusco roll cages are bolt together pieces, including the main hoop. SCCA rules require that the main hoop be one continuous tube that is mandrel bent. I believe NHRA requires the same thing.

cusco cages are simply not strong enough to stop the kind of chasis flex I'm worried about.Much less would they be NHRA 7 second certifiable.

Jesse, yes I do have a chasis shop here.He wants $2200 to do a 14 point cage that is 7 second certifiable.I'm on the phone with Chris Alston's Chasis Works as I type here.

$2200 for a 14 point is great. A good SCCA legal 6-8 point will run around $2000 usually. SCCA requires you run seamless (DOM) tubing which is a lot more $$$ than regular ERW tubing. CroMo tubing is only a little more than DOM but stronger.A custom SCCA legal cage wouldn't leave my shop for under $1500 or so. I would be afraid to even see what is required for a 7 second car!

well you know http://www.montanabros.com is doing my 12 point chromoly cage (if i told you the price your jaw would drop)...people bring the cars there from all over the country..some dude is trailering his car from cali as we speak, LOL..

but yea, i know they would charge over $2200 for a 14 point for a 'regular' person. No where, will you find a pre made 14 point cage anyway, and you probrobly do need something that goes through the firewall....figure for that 14 point chromo cage, the piping alone is like atleast 1500 bux ya know...I think if you go anything short of a custom built high quality cage, you wont be happy with it..its not like your playing around with 600hp either.....you need something above average, for that above average car. You're chassis should be your pride and joy, dont skimp on that part after building everything else!!! just my .02
