I stopped by the cage-builder's shop today to check things out. The cage was supposed to be finished by this weekend however he got sick and only worked about 20 hours last week.....oh well.

I am pretty impressed so far, he's doing everything he can to make sure I have good head clearance, and will still be able to get all the body panels back in with minimal modification. I'll even have full functionality with the T-tops

Looks good. I need to build a roll bar. Don't want a full cage myself its nice to have passengers and give them room since everybody always wants a ride

more details please going for drag? road race? what sanctioning body? what class? 6, 8, 10, 12 point?? keeping the interior?

I will primarily be doing drag racing. I have no intentions of doing any road racing with the car, that is unless I switch out to a much smaller turbo! The way 'cages' are named is a little bit beyond my reach, but I do believe this is a '6' point cage (different from a 6-point bar) that will be certified to go 8.50's

yup a 5 point bar is only legal to 11 flat, the 6 point cage keeps you legal to 8.5 and if you're faster than that I doubt the stock IRS woulod survive
