Some of the channels have merged. Others are 'premium' channels that you have to pay extra for. Although, I can't imagine Howard Stern being considered 'premium' by anyone ;-)

I think we're supposed to get 3 free months of satellite radio, right? When I press the "RDS" button on the radio, nothing happens. Do I have to activate the service somehow?

Ours was up and running when we took delivery. I would say go to the xmradio website and check there.

KCS, you must have the premium BOSE audio system to get SAT radio. If it's installed, you can access the SAT radio by pushing the 'RADIO' button:

AM -> FM -> SAT (XM) -> AM....

It's in your owners manual starting on page 4-17.

Note: You cannot add OEM Nissan SAT radio to the base audio or 6CD/MP3 audio systems (mid-level audio available in Canada only).

If you have a preference for Sirius sat radio, it is possible to 'replace' your XM unit with a Sirius unit:

Part# 999U9-AS006 - Nissan Sirius Sat radio tuner kit

Cost is about $200 USD. Check our NICO forum sponsors on the RH sidebar =>

Ah, thanks. So I was pushing the wrong button. Looking forward to trying it out! I'll have to look at the manual again to see what RDS is actually for... I do have the upgraded Bose system that comes with the leather/tech package.

Same here. Mine was up and running on delivery.

Can anone here speak to what happens at the end of 3 months. My neighbor had 3 free months with his Nissan. He said when the 3 months were up the Sirrus/XM people hounded him on a regular basis to sign a one year contract. He kept telling them he was not interested... they kept calling back anyway. He said with each callback they kept dropping the price and was eventually offered a one year subscription for $77.

Anybody here get a better price or a longer term?

We were mailed info before the 3 months ran out.

At the end of our 3 months it was right in the middle of baseball season and I was hooked. I am surprised how much we love it. We pay $38 quarterly and it's worth every penny.

With XM, I don't have to listen to my wife's ipod collection constantly! ;-)

You get the XM channels, not any add ons. Best of Sirius is an add on.

Call XM at 1-800-XM-RADIO and ask what packages are available. If nothing sounds good to you, say a friend of yours just signed up for the "6 months of XM Everything for $4.99 per month" and ask for that package (if you think it is a good deal). I signed up for that at the end of March. The operator said if I don't cancel before the end of the 6 months they will automatically renew me at the same rate. I'm happy with that! Only $30 for 6 months.

Hi Roguemeister,

They will definitely renew you if you don't cancel, but I'll bet they will renew you at the regular price, not at the reduced price. That is how they hook you. They give you a low price to get you signed up with a credit card on file, and then hope you forget the cancel at the 6 month point, and then they renew you at full price. Good luck.
