Does anyone out there have a Rogue and a baby with car seat, and if so how do you find the Rogue works for ease of getting the car seat into and out of the back seat? How about cargo area, is it sufficien to carry all of the baby gear like stroller etc.? Any parents with older kids and a Rogue - how does this vehicle work for you so far?

Thanks a lot (new Rogue owner and parent-to-be in March/April '08)!!!

I have a 9 month old, and the car seat works very well.. we are currently using a Graco travel system, so the car seat snaps into the base.

The stroller part is very heavy and bulky, yet there is still a decent amount of room.Everyone who i show the car to say how there is plenty of room.

the only thing that i was surprised about is when i went to strap on a mirror to the back headrest to see the baby, and realized that they are attached to the seat, and do not adjust!! i was laughing, its no big deal, but i see where they cut corners more now to save on the price...

I have a 4 year old and a 8 month old. i am over 6' tall and the 4 year old in his seat has room behind me. Yeah he does kick me a few times but still room for him to grow. the baby seat is rear facing and fits on the passenger side. Dont expect too may taller people to feel comfortable in the seat with the baby seat in place. The passenger seat definately needs to be a ways forward to fit the seat in correct.

We have a double stroller for the kids. It fits into the trunk no problem, but not a lot of room to spare. We do take it shopping and can fit a few bacgs in, around, and on it and still have the cover be able to hide it all ( the rear cover that is an option). There is always room on the floors in the back seat and between the car seats to fit the regular items you always need with kids.

Overall I would give the Rogue a thumbs up on the usablility for a family. it is comfortable and has plenty of room to fit all that you would need.

One thing I will say is that we do not ever take the stroller with us if we are going on vacation, as there is not enough room for suitcases, the stroller and the additional baby items.

Thanks a lot for sharing guys, I really appreciate it. It sounds like your experience aligns with our assessment of it as a fuel efficient family vehicle. One thing we were planning on doing is getting a roof rack mounted travel box (Thule brand) to provide extra storage on road trips for things like shopping bags, and luggage/duffel bags, but this of course requires purchasing the luggage rack cross members from Nissan. Anyway, I think it'll work well for us!

i have a 4 year old and ditched my grand vitara for a rogue. much much more room in the backseat and i can actually fit 2 other people back there comfortably with my 4 year olds huge eddie baur booster seat. he gets in and out of it easily too and all 3 back seats have the latch system. the cargo area is perfectly sized and we fit 2 snowboards, gear, my 4 year olds stuff, his seat with him in it, all the while staying under the cargo cover.

Has anyone come up with a solution for the back seat mirror for an infant???? I just traded in my Infiniti G35 Coupe for the family friendly Nissan Rogue - and was not able to install a back seat mirror in this car anywhere. I've tried half a dozen different mirrors already - and they are all a bust. Any help would be most welcome!!! Thanks

had the same problem with the back seat mirror. was able to find one in a target store. eddie bauer brand, light brown color and has circle shape. checked online, they only have the rectangle one. dont know if that works. but the one we bought fits with the rogue.

ok, googled it and its out of stock in target, heres the link so that u can see how it looks like, http://www.target.com/Eddie-Bauer-Soft- ... B001FBGCKK

hope this helps.

Did you get your roof rack system? We're thinking about that or a cargo carrier on back. On back would be easier for the wife ot work with. However, I'd prefer the top and get either the big duffle or the plastic storage bin.

One of the reasons we got this vehicle was for future children. Glad to see that it works.

We went from a Pathfinder to the Rogue. We have a 2 year old and a dog that travels with us. We have felt the crunch for space, but that's because we were used to a big vehicle. Over all there is plenty of room. We have a all weather travel bag for the top for the baby stuff.

My Rogue has been doing great for 3 years, my daughter is now 3 years old and my son was just born yesterday, Easter Sunday at 1:00 am and he seemed very happy riding home in it for the first time!! Not nearly as much room as a Pathfinder but it will do the job!

Congratulations on the baby boy. My wife and I are working on our 1st.

I'm buying the cross bars and the soft for the roof. I may buy a solid rack to put the storage bag in incase I just wnat to carry a few smaller items without having to load a big bag.
