Has anyone pulled CVT fluid using a fluid extractor through the "charging port" and if so.....how much fluid did you pull?

Thanks. - Rogue Sport ......not Rogue.

You can do it that way. You'll probably get a tad less than you would using the drain plug, say 3-1/2 quarts. You should measure or mark the container and put back exactly the same amount you removed. Don't mess around with that, overfilling is the single most common way DIYers blow up CVT's. It only takes half a pint over to send your transmission to CVT heaven. If your transmission has any evidence of leaking (even slightly), I strongly advise you lift it up and use the leveling-plug method instead of restoring what was removed. There are numerous threads in here about how to do that.

I'm gonna invent a plastic see thru aftermarket pan for these poor little CVT's .Pan will be one inch deeper , will have a "bubble magnifier " on the side to view CVT fluid level on ingrained hash-marks , have ready tap for aftermarket temp sensor , made from recycled hi-temp hy-tech crap plastic , we utilize a top Chinese production facility in Northern China to balance quality vs price , IF possible we put a tap for aftermarket 'float gauge' = NO Question what in your pan !!

Then all we need to do is integrate the float reading with a 3-axis G-sensor so it will maybe be accurate on a hill. Brilliant!

Excellent advice!!! I find it takes just a little more time and effort vs. changing the engine oil.

I think my Juke HAS a three axis G-sensor , can maybe integrated with that see-thru pan idea , we don't have hills here so could be a value-added option when selling WorldWide on the Interweb.

It does, but trying to co-opt it will cause codes in the BSM which will prevent it coordinating the fretonators.

And some say " smoke gets in your eyes " , I believe is the expression. Is when the turbo is leaking up front ??
At least these CVT's DON'T have vacuum modulators , at least those older transmission's you could save , being alerted by white smoke , and ya just put a new modulator in = transmission intact :chuckle:

p.s. I used " CVT " in this diatribe ....So ' this ground ball is just inside the third base bag '.... :lolling:

They only use transmodulators on Venus. Ask Marvin.

Mickey isn't a Looney Toon and Marvin isn't a Disney. Stop mixing apples and universes.
