I've seen many of you have install the color code side moldings from Sportswing...and it looks great.

I'm curious if anyone has tried these chrome ones from mynissan parts? It seems it's installed in the groove close to the bottom of the door...

Personally, I don't like chrome on a car with no chrome. Also, the purpose of the molding is to protect the doors from parking lot jerks. Installing the molding in a low area (groove) would be useless. It's not there for decoration, it's there for protection.

Nonsense. There are plenty of lower cars that can strike from below. And why can't molding be cosmetic?

My friend on his 07 passat just tinted windows and while checking the tint i looked at his chrome molding that located at the bottom of the door. It looks good so I think it would look good on rogue too.

Wow; guess I stepped on a few toes. Sorry 'bout that; not my intent. I did start my reply by writing "personally", which are my feelings, and my feelings are not nonsense.

I agree with the cosmetic aspect; when I put something on my car, I want it to look good, but I'm also a "function before form" kind of guy. Except for protection, I wouldn't have spent $125 to stick something on the side of my beautiful Rogue. And I restate: to put body side molding in the groove at the bottom of the Rogue door would be useless for protection. And, I've NEVER heard of anyone putting body side molding on the side of their vehicle just because it looks good. But then, there's no accounting for some peoples likes and dislikes. To each his own; you bought it; fix it anyway you like.

We're birds of a feather. I took one look at the expanse of door exposure on my Rogue and thought it should be protected from those numbnuts(and they are everywhere) who can't watch what they're doing when they open their doors. The chrome ones in the groove look OK, but I stopped chromeing with the grill.

I considered the chrome grille and thnk it looks great, but with all the expense so far, I decided to wait. So far, I've got the hood deflector, bsm, aluminum door guards, fender trim, rear bumper protector, Sony xplod 6.5 in the rear doors and Sony xplde 6x9 for the front when it gets out of the hospital. Today, I received sound deadening insulation for the inside. Next Saturday, we'll strip the inside and lay the insulation in the walls, floor and overhead. That'll be a big job, but well worth it.

When it gets home from the hospital Friday, I'll snap a few.
