you gotta understand, speeding up to pass someone and then stopping quickly = you are not allowing your transmission enough time to downshift and then disengage the transmission- while the revved up engine is still giving power to the transmission. thats the stutter you are feeling. by slamming on the brakes, you are slowing down the transmission- while the engine is still trying to reduce the revs. so the transmission compensates by "eating" the torque. your placing A LOT of stress on the transmission and AWD system doing this.
you bought a Rogue, not a racecar. please do yourself, and your car a favor and slow it down a tad- and take things easier

if you expect a red light coming up, maybe simply merging over and not accelerating will help! you have a belt fed transmission, so expect that belt to flex while the input side of the transmission is getting power from the engine, and the output side of the transmission is being slowed down by the brakes.
