I had my transmission replaced with a new one on my 09 Rogue a couple years ago when the recall for rattling was out and have a 10 yr warranty now. I am noticing a vibration in the Rogue when I am at a stop and wondering if this could be the transmission or something else.

Could it be the AC condenser turning on?

My AC condenser turns on when I have the heat on defrost when I am stopped at a light.

whats happening to your RPM when this symptom presents itself? does it go low? the reason iask, as this could be A/C or could be a dirty MAF / IAT sensor

Hello, I have the same shake when I sit at a light, after speeding up and then stopping quickly. My 2008 Rogue has a CVT transmission replaced a few years ago, but I think that the shake happens when the transmission has slowed down after being revved up. I call it "shuddering" . It happens at about 500 rpm. My Rogue idles around 700 RPM and when I speed up to pass someone and then have to stop at the next light quick, she idles down and then just drops to that 500 RPM. She shakes and sometimes I think that she will stall, but that hasn't yet. It is pretty scary when you don't expect it. MY ac compressor is not working right now so it is not "coming on". All air sensors are good. I have thought about this alot and still think my explaination is what is happening.

you gotta understand, speeding up to pass someone and then stopping quickly = you are not allowing your transmission enough time to downshift and then disengage the transmission- while the revved up engine is still giving power to the transmission. thats the stutter you are feeling. by slamming on the brakes, you are slowing down the transmission- while the engine is still trying to reduce the revs. so the transmission compensates by "eating" the torque. your placing A LOT of stress on the transmission and AWD system doing this.

you bought a Rogue, not a racecar. please do yourself, and your car a favor and slow it down a tad- and take things easier ;) if you expect a red light coming up, maybe simply merging over and not accelerating will help! you have a belt fed transmission, so expect that belt to flex while the input side of the transmission is getting power from the engine, and the output side of the transmission is being slowed down by the brakes.
