My Nissa Rogue pulls to the right all the time, this has been going on since I first purchased this car. I have taken it back to the dealer three times and today the tech came up and talked to me. He claims he has a Nissan Rogue also and his pulls to the right, he said that all Nissan Rogue's pull to the right. SO I am taking a survey, how many of you that own Nissan Rogue's has this problem of their car pulling to the right. I hope all of you have the problem because you are supposed to have this problem. LOL

Even after riding up a few curbs while parking or hitting the occasional unseen curb or pothole.

My Rogue travels straight when I briefly let go of the wheel. I always check whenever I hit a curb because I get paranoid that I ruined my alignment. :ohno:

Well you better take that car into the dealer and tell them that your car does not pull to the right and that all Rogues are to pull to the right - LOL I figured it was a cop out on the dealers part. Thanks for your comment.

The response from your dealer service tech is absolute nonesense.

One of the things I like about my Rogue is how solid and straight it tracks on the highway or on any road around town. Anybody tech who tells you that a car pulls to the right in an unsafe manner by design scares me, what kind of manufacturer would design a car this way or let a problem situation like this occur?

I'm at a loss what to say when your dealer outright refuses to repair an obvious problem or perhaps is unable to figure out the problem. I think they're just being lazy, the obvious things to check are front end alignment, tire wear, front suspension, steering rack, column and wheel for alignment, and possibly other items that I'm unaware of but chances are the problem lies in one of these areas.

The other option is to take it to a reputable shop, have them diagnose the problem, then take the diagnosis to Nissan to fix under warranty provided you still have warranty coverage if not, then forget the dealer and just get the problem fixed at a reputable shop, they'll have no trouble diagnosing and fixing a common problem such as this. If are covered under warranty, perhpas you can convince your Nissan shop to reimburse you the cost of having the diagnosis done at another shop due to their incompetance.

Good luck and let us know how this works out please!

Next time you speak to him mention the word "tramlining." This is the word that Nissan and Infiniti, and most likely the technician as well, likes to use to refer to when one of their vehicles has a tendency to drift or oversteer to the left or right directions. They like to use this word because they believe it absolves them of all liability, as they claim that it is a typical or common occurrence among their vehicles.

In past cases that I've witnessed, specifically with Infiniti vehicles, the vehicle's drifting was caused by either one of two things: 1) a mis-aligned wheel or wheels that require a full realignment (Nissan and Infiniti will refuse to cover the cost of this realignment, stating again that "tramlining" is a common issue and requires no service or repair), or 2) a defective steering rack.

If you have not yet, I recommend having an alignment performed on your vehicle and, should you see and feel no improvement in your vehicle's steering, consult a technician to inspect your steering rack.

I actually misspoke...it does not do it all the time....but when it does, it REALLY does....So, I don't think it is the alignment because it does not do it most of the time...and it does it at different speeds...fast and slow....by the tech telling me his does the same thing, makes me think that may be a universal answer....No car manufacturer would purposely make their vehicles turn to the right....they may drift to the right, but mine makes about a 45 degree angle....that cannot be good on tire wear...It would be really nice to just hear the truth from them.....Thanks for the input from you'll.....

Most roads have a 'crown' to help with water drainage. Depending on the design, the road will either have a slight slope to the right (most 2 lane roads) or a slope to the left (divided highways with a median). Typically this causes a gentle pull to one side or the other. Every vehicle will behave differently, some more than others.

In the case of my Rogue, the pull on 2 lanes roads is gentle but noticeable. ie. if I let go of the wheel, the vehicle will start to drift to the right. When I drive on very flat roads (multi-lane highways), the pull disappears.

Now, it's still possible to have an alignment condition or a tire issue that crops up as vehicle pulling under certain conditions. Try having the alignment checked first. Tire issues are harder to check. Ideally, you want to swap all 4 tires which is not something most can do easily.

That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. It is like a joke! If I were you, I would never go to that dealer again and left my keys to them even for a simple oil change!

One other thought...

Try rotating front tires to the rear, rears to front. Do not swap sides. If the problem disappears, then you have an issue with one or both front tires.

Hmmm, if anything, mine pulls ever so lightly to the left. It's barely noticeable and only noticed what was happening when my left wrist was aching a wee bit from making corrections. Wishing to stay away from a dealership (dealership = \\$$$$// ... dollars with wings...), I'm going to wait for the time when I might see some abnormal tire wear indicating a need for a realignment. If/when that happens, I'll also have them adjust the camber to relieve some of the oversteer.

You could just take it to an independent shop for an alignment... probably a lot cheaper.

Optionally, keep an eye out for promos. Nissan offers alignment specials from time to time. You can find them in the owners section of the Nissan USA website:

New Rogue owner here... love it. My 2010 S pulls to the right also, it's very noticeable sometimes (and slightly annoying if I let it be), but sometimes is non-existent. I drive the same highway everyday (70 mi round trip), so I've ruled out the road being the cause. Just had tires rotated last weekend and still the same results. I agree with Johny Maple, waiting to see tire wear. Wondering, could it be wind gusts? There are some odd wind patterns here in Missouri, especially on the highway I drive. This is my first non-sports car so maybe it gets knocked around by the wind a little more than I'm used to?

Wind could be the issue. My Rogue goes crazy on the highway when I'm going 55MPH+, But thats only when its very windy.
You might want to get an alignment too.
