Thanks Rogue. I did watch the video and I even downloaded the instructions from Nissan that tell you how to do this. But it did not work. The Rogue has a different type of ignition than the one in the video.Rogue One wrote:
Thanks ImStrcken. I already changed the batteries in both of my key fobs. That did not help.I even disconnected the car battery. Once for 15 minutes, and then again for about 5 hours. Neither one helped.ImStricken wrote:welcome to the forum!!!
try and change your battery first
Hmm, sorry the vid wasn't helpful. Could you post a link to the TSB. And the problem is not limited to one fob, so I'd rule out both being defective (hey, it's possible, but not likely). If a new 3rd fob is programmed for your vehicle and it too fails, the logical culprit would be the receiver in your vehicle.safemike1 wrote: Thanks ImStrcken. I noted that Nissan put out a technical bulletin on this, but it is not one that can be read by us. This tells me Nissan is aware of the problem but does not want to get into a recall mode.
You can access all the bulletins and repair manuals here - http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/Knowledgebase.htmlsafemike1 wrote:This is the Technical Service Bulletin issued by Nissan. But, I can't find it anywhere to be able to read it and see if it addresses the problem I am having. Also, this is an intermittent problem. Meaning it will work about 40% of the time with no problem, and then just not work the other 60% of the time. If anyone has any info on this bulletin I would appreciate knowing what it says.
Bulletin No: NTB12-009
Date of Bulletin: 04/24/2012
Summary Description: NISSAN: DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK INOPERATIVE WITH INTELLIGENT KEY. *KB
I would guess if you leave it in your purse and knowing what past girlfriends purses have looked like (they carried enough stuff in there to survive a nuclear warSilverfrogs01 wrote:I have this problem with my 2010 rogue as well. Always at random. I usually just open the door and manually lock if I'm leaving. Opening to get in is beyond annoying though. I do keep my key in my purse and sometimes I have to put my purse right up against the lock for it to work, other times just in reasonable distance. I have no help to answer this but would also love to know why it happens!
That doesn't mean anything other than there are complaints. Google any product and you'll find complaints. That doesn't mean a recall is justified. One has to determine the validity of complaints, frequency of the problem and factor in the quantity of product out there. I'm not saying that a recall isn't justified in this particular case but Googling for problems doesn't prove anything in and of itself.safemike1 wrote:All one has to do is to google this problem and see all the complaints.
