Well, I guess my coupling assy. is bad.
The car started making the grinding noise and I took off the driveshaft and the noise is gone..
I belive my car does not have warranty bc is a Salvage car.
So, I am looking to replace the whole carrier ( differential), but I dont know which is the final ratio (5.173 or 6.12) on my Rogue. It is a 2011 sv AWD.

Or maybe someone can tell me how much it costs to replace the coupling a**. at the Dealer..

thank you..

Hi there Motaro, OEM parts can be accessed from one of our sponsor links:

http://www.courtesyparts.com/rogue-part ... _7835.html

From this link you can access detailed drawings off all the rear driveline components, and look up prices. There are a lot of components that could be giving you troubles, I'm not sure specifically which ones you will need to replace but this is a great place to start to get an idea of parts you'll require and prices. Good luck, and let us know how things work out!

According to the service manuals, the final drive ratio of the R145 rear diff is 2.466 on all model years.

Perhaps you are confusing the the CVT final drive ratio? It did change from 6.12 to 5.798 in MY2011, but the rear diff ratio remained unchanged.

Replacing these parts is NOT a DIY project. Some special tools are required and the knowledge on how to service/repair differentials. I strongly recommend either:

A) Have a dealer perform the service.

B) Find an auto recycling yard and buy a used differential. Diff swaps are as easy as bolting/unbolting parts and are within the reach of the average home mechanic. Start looking here:

Hint: Select 'carrier' for the part.

This is a downside of buying a salvage title: no warranty. You are totally out of luck.

From the Nissan warranty guide:
SALVAGE TITLE
This limited warranty does not apply to any vehicle, and is rendered VOID if the vehicle is (or ever has been) issued a “salvage” or similar title

Philipa240sx, thank you for your answer. Actually your earlier posts helped me figure out what the grinding noise was. Thanks for the advice. I was confused- I have several nissans, including a 240sx, but Rogue is a new addition to my family, and I am learning a lot of new things. I checked out the website.

It's sad that the warranty is voided. I will keep you updated on the project.

Thanks again!
