Read through the manual (what a jumbled mess!), looked online for some easy instructions, but so far have not been able to find anything useful.

So, here I am, a nice steep hill. I switch on the HDC. The HDC icon starts blinking. I roll down the hill, and go faster, faster and faster.

Second try. On flat surface, in L gear, let go of brake, switch on HDC button, icon blinks, tap the accelerator, and go downhill faster and faster...

So, according to manual, blinking means not all conditions for HDC activation have been met.

All the driving aids are on / enabled.

The manual speaks of a 'chassis control' page on the central info display. What does that look like? The manual shows an image, but does not look like any of the pages I see.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Bump.

Has anybody tried the HDC yet?

The manual does state that AWD Lock has to be on for hill descent control to work. Did you check that? This also means it's only going to work at sub-25mph speeds.

I also do not have the "chassis control" page and I did see that in the manual. Seems like one of many things in the manual that do not actually exist on the US rogue. Maybe we should get a sticky topic on what is wrong in the manual, since Nissan seems reluctant to fix the manual posted on their website even when it is completely and obviously wrong.

The following things are in the US manual posted online and I know for a fact they do not exist on the 2014 Nissan Rogue in the US:
-Chassis control page
-Windshield washer fluid sensor
-Hold unlock on the fob to lower windows
-Hold key to the unlock position to lower windows

Chassis control is there but you need to add it. Similar to the 4x4 torque split screen.

So, I see the 4x4 info screen. By I don't see a 'chassis control' screen. Or are you saying those are one and the same?

It's there, you're right. My dealer could not find it so I took them at their word when they said it doesn't exist. Time to find a new dealer, I guess. I take back what I said, although I'm still mad about the other missing features.

Edit: I tested out the hill descent control with the chassis control page on. What I found is probably what you'd expect - it did not do anything on dry pavement (although the hill was not THAT steep). You aren't suppose to use AWD lock on dry pavement anyway. In my back yard however, there is a short, steep hill. It worked exactly as intended there and lit the wheels up blue on the chassis control page. It is an "off road" feature and it works as advertised when "off road".

So, if the chassis control page is different from the 4x4 page, how do I get to the chassis control page?

ha!

Settings - meter settings - main menu selection <enter>

Then thumb through the various pages, and check the 'chassis control' page.

Exit the menus

Now it's available to go through these pages using the square button on the steering wheel.

Completely forgot about those hidden pages...

You have to wonder why all of those pages are not on by default.

Yeah, agree...

Now where did I put that hill to try this on...
