I have shipped a Rogue SV AWD 2011 (gas model and lightly used: 10k miles) from US to Europe. I applied for pollution test to certify corresponding European emission level but I was surprised because it was evaluated as EURO 4 (THC 0.085 ; CO2 gram/km: 220) and not EURO 5: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_e ... enger_cars

Is it normal? Should I replace air/gas/oil filters and repeat the test?

Thanks!

Forgive me, but wouldn't this be better addressed on a EU based forum? :gotme

:picard: The Qashqai IS the European Rogue. If anyone would know how to improve emissions to meet EUROPEAN standards, these people are gonna be your odds on choice. It couldn't hurt to ask someone over there, in Europe.

well for one figure out what the differences in standards are.

engine oil/air/fuel filters, are for protecting YOUR ENGINE, not filtering out the exhaust/emissions. if there was anything to begin thinking about changing it would be the exhaust system, and we are talking about the catalytic converters. i believe that your could pass if you installed ANOTHER catalytic converter. i know cars in the USA have two standards to abide by: federal & California emissions. federal standards say its ok to have two catalytic converters. California is more socialist and communistic and states THREE is the minimum standard.

pop your hood and find the emissions sticker. take a picture and i can tell you if its federal or California. if it states your car abides by California standards = then you have 3 cats and strange ECU. if your car abides by federal, then you have 2 cats.

yes and no. its on the same "C" platform, but the Qashqai can be 1 of 5 engine options, and 1 of 4 transmission options. also, it can be manual or automatic. it Is also available in two different lengths/sizes! so yes its the european rogue, but in the same time, it is its own car all in it self. if anything its more Dualis than Rogue. (its not like the infiniti g37 is the nissan skyline (two absolutely identical cars, with identical options aside from being right hand drive) in japan.)

Engine:
1.6L I4 petrol HR16DE
2.0L I4 petrol (MR20DE)
1.5L I4 K9K Diesel Engine
1.6L I4 R9M Diesel Engine
2.0L I4 M9R Diesel Engine

Transmission:
5-speed manual
6-speed manual
6-speed automatic
CVT

Let's see what does it mean.... Image

I found more info about Rogue 2011 emissions:
- Rogue 2011 - CO2 EMISSIONS
- Carbon Dioxide Emissions from New Australian Vehicles 2011 - Information Paper

In the second document (page 28) for Nissan it says 226 CO2 g/km as average... I got mine for 220. I have admit Nissan has higher numbers (which is bad) comparing with Volkswagen, Honda, Hyundai and even Toyota...
