My 2010 SL rogue's brakes seem to be extremely spongy/floaty. When stopping I need to push the brakes pedal all the way down before it'll come to a complete stop. It feels like I'm pushing air out.

Checked the brakes fluid and its just a hair under max line. Was under the impression that the brake pads were replaced a year ago.

Few things to say...first car, and although I'm 29 I've only had my license for a year/year and a half. So my experience with different cars is pretty minimal.

I unfortunately had a little accident a month ago and had go put my car in the shop(airbag went off) , and had jusy picked her back up. The rent a car I had was a new ford focus, and immediately I found the brakes really touchy, and just assumed it was the difference between the two cars, but after getting my rogue back i really noticed the difference. I had my sister drive it just to see if it was just me, and she found them really off as well.

Any quick idea what might be wrong? Air in the brake lines seems to be the first Google awnser I can find.

If you were in an accident that was bad enough to deploy the air bags then there could be any number of issues that happened to your car. Including something with the braking system.
Take it back to where the car was fixed and tell them about it.

cheap brake pads = spongy feel. upgrade to ceramic
old fluid has moisture in it = spongy feel. bleed your brakes
make sure the sliders are well lubed.
make sure all 4 calipers work easily & equally (checking the pads will tell you, which are wearing faster)
- test drive a used rogue from a local nissan dealer to compare to yours.

i know i installed cheapa55 organic material into the front, and instantly felt spongy brakes. its actually not spongy; as in compressible. it simply takes more brake pedal foot travel to make the cheaper material grip.

With out seeing/knowing what was actually damaged other than the airbag going off, I would say you have air in your brake system and you need to take it back to the shop and have them fix it. They probably had to repair something around your brake lines or wheels and opened up the system which allows air to get in the lines.

Ceramic pads do "feel" better than other kinds of pads.
