So today in school I couldnt wait to get out. All the state troopers were at my school for some award ceromony. I mean, I doubt it was "ALL" of them, but it was an aweful lot, at least a 100 or more. I couldn't wait to get out because I had a long day and let's face it, school sucks! And since most of them were all at my school and not on the highway I could get home as fast as I wanted to! So I go to my car in the parking lot, and there is this ugly lime green Dodge Neon with a Giant satallite wing on the back. Completely stock neon, besides the giant wing that will never be useful, EVER. Anyway, so I get in my car, put my face plate on the stereo turn the key and start the car. All of a sudden, the horribly looking neon's alarm goes off!!! ROFL He must have had a vibration sensor or something and my borla exhaust set it off! I sat there for about 30sec realizing what happened laughing my a$$ off. But then I remembered all the cops that were around so I continued to laugh and left the parking lot. I mean, my muffler has a very low tone to it, it is loud, but not awefully loud. Has this happened to anyone before? Gosh it was hilarious.....::ylsuper

A friend of mine has an integra with a very loud system. We drove through the parking garage at hot import nights in orlando with it all the way up. The bass set off 14 car alarms.

Brings back memories of me and Aries driving around in a parking building, one of those 5 story ones. We set off alarms a few stories above us :) ... the lady was like "Your car is too loud", "You set off every alarm in this place".

My lifted Suburban with headers and straight pipes sets off alarms all the time - from a pretty decent distance...

Car alarms are stupid. All they do is alert me to which car need a cinderblock through the windshield. :D

I've never tried to set off an alarm with my system (seeing as its only one JL 12", i'd have to crank it to get any response), but my HKS HIPER sets off alarms all the time. Its the lowest toned exhaust I've heard as of yet, and in car garages I can get tons of alarms to go off. Too much fun.

I have a Hiper and I couldn't set off car alarms if I tried. And I like it that way.

I have an Apex'i N1 w/ hotshot headers and now I really need a silencer. But even before the headers, I had no problem setting off alarms below 3500rpm's.

I used to set off car alarms driving down the street in my Datsun 510. It had a Supertrapp and some really nice headers. I almost got stuck in an office parking garage when the attendent tried to keep me there, because I set off just about every alarm in the place.

I remember back in high school there was a guy with a Mitsu Mirage, his alarm would go off it there was the slightest wind gust. What makes all this funny is that even with such a senitive alarm his car was stolen within a few months.

i set off alarms with my exhaust every once in a while, but there's this one crx by my gf's place and i can set off his alarm by closing my door. he used to park right outside her window on the street and his alarm would be going off alllllll night long whenever any car went by.
