Care to post a link to where you "heard" this? I "hear" a lot...doesn't make it true - and there is usually more to the story. Dee knows his ca's, and if he says 450hp ill believe it... not to mention there are plenty of ca's running over 300whp with stock un-bent rods.

A bent rod at 300 hp??

id put it down to a bad tune, or maybe he spun it to high.

What he said.

An engine with a bad tune cannot be used as a measurement of what the mechanical abilities of the engine are.

If a rod bent at this hp, then it was the method they used to prep it that made it weaker. We do 400whp+ around here on stock bottom ends and in some cases stock rods with the addition of only CP pistons. I'm with nismo on this one, a bent rod has nothing to do with the tuning as it will more than likely cause a damaged piston first. I don't care if you overtime the thing, the pistons are your first fuse. Unless a piston got smoked, somehow got jammed-up in the cylinder putting extra force on the rod and the guy just kept shoving fuel at it (Unlikely, but not impossible).

If somebody bent a rod at 300HP on a CA, they screwed something up. The rods can take way more power than that.

I beleive that this was a one off. I was suprised myself that wif 300WHP it would bend a rod, something else must have played a part in it. I guess we shouldnt use my example of CA rod strength.
