Some Q45 owners, like me, have found their knock sensor harness wiring eaten by rodents.

I'm here to tell you that Honda has the solution to rodent eaten knock sensor harness wiring.

The review indicates the tape has no adhesive, I think you need to BYOG (Bring Your Own Glue) or wrap the repellent tape with Extreme tape. Oh well.. Maybe they will get it worked out someday.

Is it an RTV tape or impregnated with a pesticide? RTV tape doesn't have adhesive but sticks to itself by stretching about 50% as it's applied.

Are you having a problem currently with mice under the hood? Did you order a couple of rolls?

No mice problems at this point. Mine happened with the previous owner. I just saw this where some Ridgeline owners are getting their KS wiring eaten by rodents.

I have found mouse nests in 2 spots under my hood, down in the valley under the plenum, and in the space between the condenser and radiator! This on my Q which is driven 365 days per year, not sitting unused for lengths of time. I now drop a few Altoids peppermints in both spots come Fall,as I read mice hate the smell of peppermint. So far,no new nests have been constructed.

And if that turns out to be a myth, at least your mice will have good breath!

Why don't you guys just put some rat poison by the harness... the critter croaks, and after driving around for a while... you've got grilled rodents.... yum!!

And as long as your engine isn't overheating, it will be slow cooked for maximum tenderness.......... :dblthumb:
