what is the stock rod strength on the rb25 motors? i need to know my limit of hp so i dont exceed it and blow it up. i plan on pushing near 600@ the wheels so are they good for 650@ the flywheel?

if your planning on going that high why risk it? Replace them while the engine is out and on a stand. Otherwise just find out. F*uck "internet knowledge" and what other people have read. 99% of the stuff is regurgitated, and 67.6% of all statistics are made up anyways. Use your head.

I saw an rb25 that made 585 rwhp and didnt last very long. I dont remember if it had internal modifications, but it was a stock rod that failed. Wish I could find it for you.

Look on some of the australian forums, they seem to have most experience in this area. From what I've read on there 500whp is the safe limit.

I've held rb20 and rb25 neo rods side by side and they dont look nearly as stout as the 20's.

ya i have seen the 500 hp range floating around but i wasnt sure if it was flw hp or not. also i would think with it being a short stroke motor that they would be able to hold alot of hp.guess ill shoot till i break them.

it's the pistions you need to worry about first, you will melt them before a rod is bent.

remember tuning is the key.

My two cents, how much are rods gonna cost that you hope can handle that kind of horse power? Sure they might be better than your stock ones but stuff happens, and no piece of metal is fool proof. For the price of a good set of rods and pistons and all the other crap that you will get pressured into buying because you can only have the best name brand stuff around here, you can buy a couple engines. Sling one of those $1000 a set rods out the side of your motor and your just starting over with less money. For me I will see how long stock internals last and if I have a failure I will have extra parts when I get another

i have forged pistons, acl race bearings, arp bolts and head studs, metal head gasket, hks timing belt etc. only thing stock internally is the rods and crank. thats why i was askin, its not like i wanna throw mad boost at a completely stock motor.thanks for the info guys. i think ill look to make around 500-530 at the wheels
