I bought my second 240sx from a guy who said he went out one morning to go to work and it just wouldn't start. Well it was the battery, lack of fuel, and a missing fuel pump fuse. After I got it started I noticed a very loud knocking when it was revved. Looked it up on here and guess what? Rod knock! Did my home work and I know there are a few topics on here discussing this problem, which I have found thanks to the search button, but I need to know what you guys would do. Rebuild the ka24e or buy a long block with internals and just put it back together? Thanks!

Yeah cuz that just happens, he knew exactly what was wrong with it. I'd just buy a complete engine for a few hundred, swap it in, and if you wanted to build the engine that came out for a turbo or something.

Thank you for a noob that actually searches! Okay for the KA I would just rebuild or buy a new one...the other day I was cruising craigslist and picked up a KA24DE for $50.00 (Complete motor with a blown headgasket, came with everything...all belts, pulleys, alternator, oil pan, valve cover, etc etc) That makes 3 motors that I have for my car that I got for under $100.00 for all three. Just search around and you will find a good deal man....

Think he'd be willing to ship it? At my expense of course.

If you look around you there might be one that would be about the cost of shipping the other.

I actually didn't need this 240, but I wanted it to do a auto manual swap cause I thought it'd be cheaper, I mean I only paid 350 for the car, but now I'm going to drop another engine in it while I rebuild the old one for fun. In the end I'm just going to sell this car and the rebuilt block.

Not even close like 10 hp
