Whichever grade is stamped on the crankshaft.

Yes. Besides, you don't know if the crank will have to be machined or not. If it has to be, then you need to buy different size bearings. If you plan on replacing the bearings, I would definitely suggest taking it to a shop to measure the journals and order the bearings for you. Or at least tell you which bearings to order.

i went through this with my m3 when i spun the rod bearing, i was just hoping on getting all of the parts to rebuild the bottom end before the motor got here. i will just order them later. thanks man.

i have a question...how much would it cost for a machine shop replace all the main and rod bearings for you? cuz i dont know whether to just give up and sell the car or put in extra time for money (im still in high school thats why)

did you spin a rod bearing? if so, they will machine the crank which where i live is under 100 bucks, then the price of bearings plus you will have to buy a used rod from somebody because you probabley ovaled the one that spun. if you rebuild the bottom end yourself, you can do this for relatively cheap, it gets expensive when you pay someone to do it for you.

would anyone know of any reliable machine shops in the cerritos area?
