Rod bearing/wrist pin/piston slap question

Just wondering for those of you who have experienced one or more of these problems what other symptoms did you experience beside the knocking sound? Any loss of power?

And for those unfortunate few who couldn't get it fixed in time how long did your baby last before it blew it's last breath?

I've been experiencing one of these three *still haven't identified exactly which one is it, about to shortly* for a year now. I've gone from 176,000 miles to 200,000 and it hasn't really gotton any worse. I just did an engine flush and it accually quieted down some and I've never noticed any power loss from it. I'm just curious about any one else's experience with this stuff

what have you done to the engine? have you done any thing to the bottom end? i had a tap in my bottom end and i was told i put a connecting rod in wrong. pulled the engine and it seems i put 2 in wrong. i never put them back in because i didn't put a wristpin in right. scored my #3 cylinder by at least . 002.so i just swaped the engine with another one

I haven't done anything to the bottom end and not too much to anything else. I was told when I bought it that it had been rebuilt, but that was way back when it only had 120k on it. I have no idea if they did the bottom end or just left it, or if they even did it at all.

It just seems to be that if it was a rod bearing it would have atleast gotton significantly worse but now, nevermind that almost everyone I've talked to said their's didn't last a month lol I've put nearly 30k on it over almost a year.
