OEM or Clevite 77 would be my choice.

I went OEM (10 over) cause I was told they were very good. Bought them from CourtesyParts, the price should be on the engine rebuild page on my site.

What is the price on the Clevite ones?

I recommend the Nismo bearings. They are nice because they have an oil groove to keep oil on the bearing when cornering hard, drifting, etc when all the oil in the pan splashes to one side. Not sure if anyother manufacturer has this feature...

You can't go wrong with OEM, they've proven to hold up for a LONG time. I just went with the Clevite's because they have a great reputation as well and my machine shop could get them easily.

i would agree, oem has proven itself to last. this route would definately cut some cost.

now, i'm pondering how much power stock rods could hold? any one care to chime me on this...

Stock rods are shot-peened from the factory and have run up to 400hp easily. DUY runs on a totally stock bottom end for 3 years at 357 dyno proven hp. The key is fuel management people. Enough fuel and rods shouldn't be a problem. Pistons are the only item one should really have to consider upgrading until you start reaching stupid power levels. Rods bending/breaking in a boosted KA simply becuase they are weak are VERY few and VERY far between.

Nothing? all youd need to worry about are the wrist pins, which most likely come with the piston kit anyway.

Nothing as long as long as you stick with a stock wrist pin size for the pistons :)
