Rockford Fosgate sub and amp question

k so my boy is selling his car and im thinking about picking up his sub and amp.I have stock BOSE system and i want just a lil more bass on it.

He's selling Rockford fosgate 12" P2 Sub and 400 Watt rms 2 channel amp. for $ 200 CND...i guess its kinda a good deal for a used fosgate right? but are those okay sub? i dont need hugh bass and im not willing to spend too much $$$. I listen to hiphop so stock BOSE doesnt really cut it so i guess one 12" sub is enuff.

can anyone chime in about these??
