That's slightly illegal, if I'm not mistaken.

^that makes sense. OP if you are not trying to make a business out of it then your all set, however if you want to perhaps try to make this more than just a 'hey I can help you get one" type of thing, you will need to make it 50 state legal, luckily lighting technology has come a long way and DOT approved TBLs can be bought in all shapes and sizes for very cheap, especially in bulk.

You, sir, have opened my mind. I will work on a prototype with TBL and show it here.

Gotta admit I like the look as well, I wanted a little more "lip" on my fiberglass powertrix spoiler but would have to mod it (and do plan to try some day).
Not so sure about the tbl thing either Ace, I have had cops look my NA over three times with the spoiler on and not a peep about it...and not sure anyone other than a Z guy would know there ever WAS a third brake light, either. But I do agree with Anton that would be something to account for if wanting to produce them, you'd want to be as close to DOT and road law compliant as possible.

I got curious so I looked it up. In the US and Canada, it is mandatory past the 70s. (I forget the exact year) it also is required to be mounted higher than the standard stop lights and is not allowed to flash, although Mercedes Benz got a 24 month waiver to allow it for research purposes.

Hmmm, interesting and good info- I wasn't aware I was flouting the law with that spoiler. I may have to see about maybe inserting one into it when I mess with more lip...if I ever get things to a point where that and a splitter can fit into my open time again!

I agree from the standpoint of how "upright" it is, I think a little more laid-back angle would flow with the car a little better (looks) but that the more upright angle would actually give some slight downforce (performance).
I'm thinking that about 2" added to the Mission style spoiler, tapering slightly but uplifted at about 30-35 degrees would be best of all worlds...I'm hoping anyway!
