rocker questions...

on my KA24E... ive reciently replaced the timing components, exhaust valves, fuel pump, regulator, fuses, and such.... but the questions really for the rockers... when the timing was thrown and the valves bent the rockers got pushed up and stayed in that place so i got a set off a friend that on the rockers were the hit the valve... that little piece thats there for rebound on the rockers i guess... is that suppose to be solid enough to not be able to push in by hand or is it suppose to be pretty spongy???? because it ticks up top and we cant figure it out.... and its not getin oil to the head..... and we replaced the pump and checked a few other things but nothing..... can anyone help im bout to the end of the road with this car....

There was a post a few days ago similar to this, a ka24e with head oiling problems. This is your main problem, not the rocker/lifter ticking. They cannot work without oil. The center bearing journal of the cam is where the rocker assembly oil passage in the head. This is most likely clogged either in the head or block portion, or at headgasket location. Without pulling head you can try pushing through the passage with some flexible wire and also try some compressed air. You will need to remove the rocker assembly. Fixing a clogged passage here (without pulling head) i would say is a 50/50 chance to be honest. You sure your not getting oil to rockers/cam etc..? This would be very bad news if it has been running for very long in this condition.

yeah... im not getin oil to the head.... and we checked damn near err thang.... ill try a stiff piece of wire down there the next nice dayu and see what that accomplishes
