rocker question

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

hey.. i was just wondering... is it possible to get the rockers offset when there are taken off or loosened up??? i got a tick and im pretty sure that i got the guides, chain and tensionar on the right way... what else could cause a knock??? thanks

Shims are not up to spec. You need replacements.

Edit: There is no "adjustment" to the rockers, you have to actually replace the slug like shims that sit on top of the lifters according to the stock clearance allowed in the FSM. Hold on, I will post the clearance...

Bah, I forgot. Its pretty complicated and involves a feeler gauge and some other measurement tools.

so how do i test to see if those are out??? and how hard are they to replace... i will check the clearence with em tomorrow and another question... are you suppose to be able to push them in by hand or is that a sign of them being no good?? thanks
